All I can say is good luck. I will tell you from experience, it is probably the hardest type of faction to start and maintain. If you do the right things it is easy to get new members, however, it is near impossible to keep very many. Unfortunately the "what to do with all the money" is a bigger problem than it may seem. Once most players get enough money, they tire of trading, hence become very inactive in whatever trader faction they belong to.

RepEx has billions of dollars it will probably never spend. The best advice I can give you is get a few partners to help with the implimentation and daily operations of your faction. Again, I wish you the best of luck.

ok, ghost, Ive been looking around for what kind of ships we bight be able to use other than te Dragon, Drake, and Kusari LF thingy. I have found out that there is a Samura Planet that sells the IMG VHF and GB. pluse Honshu sells the Talarca, does this mean we can use these? man, I would love to lead my escort platoon in a Talarca.

Here's the short description of Samura :

The history of Samura is deeply intertwined with that of the Empire, and Samura maintains close ties with the Kusari Shogunate, its ruling governmental body. Samura holds key contracts for the construction of the Kusari Navy and terraforming in the Tau Border Worlds, and previously held the exclusive rights for the distribution of valuable resources produced by the Gas Mining Guild (GMG). However, because the agreement with the GMG has recently expired, Samura faces intense competition for the GMG's business from archrival Kishiro. Samura is also engaged in a protracted dispute with Synth Foods over the lucrative race to feed the ever expanding Kusari population.

And Kishiro :

While not as politically well-connected as their primary competitor, Samura, Kishiro has instead focused its efforts on developing cutting-edge technology. Its most notable breakthrough was in 91 AS when scientists working aboard Shinagawa perfected the mass production of Optical Chips using a common Polymer base. These Optical Chips have since become key components in everything from Optronics to ships to Jump Gates and Trade Lanes.

Personally, I prefer Samura, as it has much more potential.
They are closely connected with both Hogosha and AFA factions.
They are also the ship builders, as well as Kishiro.
Both companies have 1 Shipyard, Samura - Yokohama, Kishiro - Yukawa.
It seems Kishiro is more honorable though, so maybe a better choice for KNF.
Samura is pretty much like Hogosha, they will use their connections to increase their power and influence.
And they will do whatever it takes to achieve their goals.
So, Samura can actually RP quite nicely with both AFA and Hogosha, while Kishiro can't exactly.

I believe Lotek's information was rather biased. I also prefer Samura myself. Kishiro is more of a pro-western corporation (in Sirius I guess its southern?) while Samura is more of a radical corporation, the old traders of Kusari and supporters of traditions. After the fall of the Shogunate Kusari is becoming more western. They are letting in Bounty Hunters, foreign corporations. It has become struggle for Samura. Its hard for them to stay on top and so far situation is rather tense. Although Samura still maintains bigger bank accounts, which means more influence and power.
