yeah, its hard not to notice it when u go near one, its a half circle, glowing, has a big eye stalk, and its engine makes sounds like a Sonar Ping.

Exactly, it isn't exactly the most freelanceresque ship. I think it would fit in if there was a RP reason for it being in here, or maybe if there were more ships of this shape or type. Maybe a freighter called the Marsfloater :crazy: .

The Mars Flyer is a ship straight out of "The War of the Worlds".
It was not even considered for inclusion into Freelancer as well as the other popular TV series and Movie ships. For 1 very good reason. COPYWRITE LAWS.
I'm all for custom ships. The more the better. But I dislike using ships from movies and tv.

If it's to be used for role play, well we're talking 1950's and WWII technology. In the long run, you're not supposed to kill them...they're suppose to just die. LOL

Personaly im all for a few new ships.

but i must say the marsflyer dose look out of place in freelancer.
to be honnest its to smooth sleek and not bulky enough to pass for a freelancer ship.

however its weapons, thursters, sheilds give the gmae a few more combernations of sets and i would hate to see the weapons ect removed.

i thinks haveing a whole bunch of varying marsflyers would be a great idear and but one but its self dose look out of place.

personaly i would like to see a mover freelancer looking ship but with the same stats because after all this is freelancer not war of the worlds

I don't think that we should care much about Marsflyer copyright. This ship was included into dozens of mods before us.

I meant when Freelancer was first developed. They had to come up with original stuff. I like that.....originality.

I dunno.. Marsflyer seems pretty powerful by itself but its shied is weak. Its standard shields with a mk 7 upgrade and it still goes down to zip within 4-5 nomad shots..tried using it in pvp and again it gets pwned real quick against fighters
