Thanks to everyone for their tips, I'm definetly going to check out Conneticut. Fighting probably isn't suited to me anyway, I'll stick to trading until my pockets overflow with credits.

Hear me!:DWhen your pockets overflow with credits simply buy a dread with CAU8 and let your friends kill the enemies!:D

1. Make mob of ships
2. get all to log on at once
3. SWARM TACTICS
4. ????
5. Profit.

Power does not corrupt. Fear corrupts... perhaps the fear of a loss of power.

I don't have a problem with hitting my target - I've played enough shooters in my life to do that competently.

My problem is that I just don't comprehend the movement of Freelancer battles. I love Fighters, but I hate actually fighting in them because the battles are so long they get boring. I always die to mines and such.

Gunboats are much easier than Fighters, I've learned; capitol ships in general are completely different in battle.

I suck at PvP and I'm too lazy to get better so my roleplay tends to revolve around ambushing and crushing weaker targets. I'm the guy who camps the tradelane with a Gunboat and I don't apologize for it, hahah.

True. That's why I like cap-cap battles. You don't need to fly for 15-20 minutes in complete chaos of fighter/bomber swarm. You and your cap fleet make one or two mistakes and you all die fast, enemy makes one or two mistakes - same thing.

Edit: and what I like most in cap battles is the fact that coordination of a whole fleet and cooperation is almost always a key to success. You simply can't win cap battle when you and your friends are "in chaos": without a leader who names targets, who calls for making formations, retreat and regroup. And that's very very cool - cooperation in PvP.

Keep on dying till you start killing.

That's the only way to improve in this game. But having an idea of what you are doing and why also helps.
