If I may say what I think:

You said you want a griddy, military style signature with some sci-fi elements in it. The signature you fell so much in love with totally does not deliver what you wanted. Maybe you are looking for the signature for the other game and forum. The Yue's signature is ok, but it has the feeling of a fighting game or an adventure or a hero movie, but has nothing to do with military.
This is just what I think. I realize that you didn't have much choice and with you all the best.

If you ask me, when one wants a really good sig, one has to let the sig-makers run with the general theme and take it where their imagination and skill leads them. With enough people brainstorming, and enough feedback, there is a very good chance to come up with something better than any sig-comissioner's original idea, even if that more or less concrete idea was needed to get the ball rolling.
This seems to be what happened here, as well.
