The only reason i'd be interested really is for the exploration aspect of being able to visit all of Tamriel with decent graphics (unlike the older daggerfall or morrowind which, despite being presumably good games, are a little TOO dated now).

If I'm not mistaken, Daggerfall was restricted to Daggerfall and Morrowind was restricted to Morrowind.
The only main series game that let you go across Tamriel was Arena, and that wasn't such a great game.
I could be wrong, haven't played Daggerfall in a long time... But I know Morrowind for sure.:P

Arena you had all of Tamriel - and that's his whole point. Arena ... wasn't that great. Now with all of the additional graphics, plus the improvements in game play ...
You want to go from High Rock to Mournhold, go ahead. If they put the level of detail into everything that exists now ... this game will be something else.
That's rather the thing. It might not be something else. It might be another swtor/wow theme park game. Probably will be. The development of this title might make murders on the development of their regular titles.
To avoid launching into a long tired monologue concerning the modern mmo yadda yadda I'll keep it as such: The only way this game will appeal to me is if I suddenly find myself suing an updates version of Ultima Online as it was in its heyday of 97 before the care bears managed to break the back of the game.
Correct, but only parts of Morrowind (Vvardenfell, Mournhold, Solsteim). I think there was a mod called Tamriel Rebuilt or something like that with a bigger chunk of Morrowind being playable.
Back on topic: Has there been any info about the gameplay in Elder Scrolls Online? Is the intent to create just another fantasy MMO with the same gameplay as all the others?

I doubt it, given Bethesda isn't actually developing it.
Though I doubt we'll see a new title in the main series any time soon, they haven't even hinted at it.

It's only just been announced, so there are very few details.

There are graphical enhancement mods for Morrowind that are quite good.
IMHO, The Elder Scrolls universe was never meant for MMO territory. There is not enough variety in equipment and the typical powers/abilities structure of MMORPGs does not match the gameplay of any TES games.
I would much rather they make TES VI: Return to Morrowind or Elswyer or Blackmarsh.
Also, it would be awesome if TES incorporated a loot system similar to Borderlands, where loot is randomly generated from many smaller components and almost always has unique stats.
