But as many people do not know that you have to limit your frame rate to < 160 (via dxtory), they got off lightly.
But that's only my guess.
Well, I'm going to be in trouble then, because I get >180 fps without changing any settings whatsoever.
Whatever, I don't mess with my graphics settings, apart from the resolution, so I should be fine. :p
*Edit: after thinking about this for a bit, I can't see how the framerate on a players PC would give that player an advantage over another player, so I have come to the conclusion that Jack is being silly or being a troll, I haven't quite figured out which yet :p

Oh, look, what I've found. Somehow I feel this could have prevented some of the sanctions. I think you know which ones.
Still make sure there is a cap since FPS is always going up and down, and the digit is more of a average, even when its over a fraction of a second. So a word of advice, get dxtory and cap the fps.

Your ship is lagging, even with 30 ping and 0% lag
Ain't FPS that frame-per-seconds thingy that most people use to measure graphic performance? I thought it was more on the client side (better/worse graphic performance) than for the whole server -- How having a higher FPS makes you lag in an online game?
