Updated the Lore, to reflect our "involvement" in the Outcast revolution. ( Improper term as we didn't really take any sides, as well as our recent RP with Outcasts )

Also, as you may see, our recruitment is open again, though now... it will take a little turn.

The Recruitment will be done in a combination of ingame and forum RP ( the start will be ingame ).

The character who desires to join must make itself noticeable in the eyes of one of the Commonwealth members ( or more ). If he would raise interest, then the member/s would proceed into trying to find more about him and possibly "test" his capabilities and the commitment he would eventually have for the fraternity.

Should he meet the expectations of the said member/s he would then be asked to make a declaration of intent to the faction ( preferably the council ) where he states that he was recommended by the said member, and that he desires to join.

There are no recruitment questions, forms to complete, or any kind of structure at all. It's all up to the applicant's imagination, intellect and skill. He needs to make himself worthy and that he is truly a benefit to the Commonwealth.

Should he succeed all these feats... he is accepted.

That was a tl ; dr explanation of the new recruitment system, I personally thought that with the lore of the Commonwealth, it would make more sense to have it this way than a simple recruitment thread on forums.

Suggestions and feedback are always welcomed as always.

Have a nice day

Jokes aside, we've had a lot of Rp changes of late, and we're still happy to drink any feedback you may have forthcoming.

I really like everything I've seen from this faction during my scoots around in the Taus and such, with one exception. The "gimmick" of your entire faction talking like an explosion in a thesaurus factory is probably one of the most irritating and obnoxious "quirks" I've ever seen. I'm all for having a wide vocabulary, but when your average word length is creeping into the double digits, maybe you should tone it down a bit.

That said, the quality of RP and everything other than the thesaurus abuse is excellent. You keep the Taus interesting.

Thanks Omicega for the instafeedback Smile.

I can see where you're coming from - our post lengths are certainly outsize and certain roleplay characters (mostly Achille and Robert, but you could extend that to about three others), have a tendency to deliberately overcomplicate their sentence structures, but there's a reasoning beyond simple flamboyance behind it; both characters delight in obfuscation and confusing whatever individual they happen to be dealing with at the time. See it as the none-aggressive, firmly neutral equivalent of threatening someone with an antimatter round to the head; it's intended to incapacitate the opposition just as effectively.

I'll admit that we're beginning to lose a handle on it, and are well aware how OORP strenuous a lot of CW| dialogue can prove to the uninitiated, both ingame and out. We're trying to tone it down a little.

Edit: Most of the faction actually communicates with the archetypal accents of their origin houses, or just types conventionally. The verbose chars just have greater forum representation, partly due to faction structuring and partly due to Oorp activity restrictions.

It's not a "gimmick", it has a use.

Like Achille said, the "complicated" speech, or like some say: " CW Speech " and even " Edspeech " ( Kudos to the one who did it ) has a very deep inRP justification.

First of all, it's unique to two main CW chars ( Robert d'Autoine and Achille Nadeau, but it does extend to others, but these two are the archetype of the speech ). It's a speech typical to their flamboyant, eccentric personality, always desiring to mesmerize and astonish people through any way possible

Second of all, it's a method of verbal subterfuge and subtlety, we use it anytime and especially when we want to express certain " under the veil " ideas and propositions that we wouldn't want any random third party who passes by to hear.

Think of it like a form of encryption Big Grin It's hard for people to know what we want to do if we talk like that... except for our business partners, our business partners do understand us quite decently. It is after all one of the methods after which we select our business partners as well.

We cannot hide our motives with guns so we do it with our words, that's true as well.

All in all, think of it like something which is typical to the personality/RP of a very few of the CW characters and as well as a form of encryption.

I hope I explained it clear enough, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I will try my best to answer them.

Also, I cannot properly express how much I appreciate your compliments, so I will end my post with a very warm " thank you "

Thank you Big Grin

What he says Big Grin

This Galaxy is vast; its wonders and beauty are almost unfathomable. But the galaxy also hides dark secrets, some of which have lain dormant since the beginning of time itself. There is a danger in secrets, both in seeking and in knowing. Some things are meant to be hidden from view. Some mysteries defy understanding, and sometimes even the things we think we know are untrue. Some secrets should remain untouched.

Kudos Big Grin, although don't think we won't stab you in the ass befriend you and smother you with Rp cuddles of many strange and unexpected natures.

I've noticed a fair few other members do it, too.

To be perfectly honest, it's kind of lost its novelty. Initially it was kind of entertaining, now it's downright annoying to the extent that I often don't feel like stopping by even when I get the chance.

If it were just those two characters, sure. They also happen to be two of the most 'noteworthy' characters, so if there's an encounter they're almost always part of it.

Hell, my Marduk's speech is usually more understandable than yours 8|

Edit:

Please note that your faction is still worth encountering, usually. It's just that the method of speech is starting to become a bit (too much) of a gimmick.

If it's "THAT" problematic then compromises have to be made in order to assure worthy, free of any inconveniences, encounters on both sides.

As for that matter I spoke simpler today... Yes, I did. ( in my opinion at least )

But... to understand the problem this speech offers exactly, may I know what bothers you in your opinion more specifically? Or what do you find problematic?

The length, the choice of words, the metaphorical expressions? A selection of all of them?

Just trying to understand the possible problem it offers in a better way and seek a good enough compromise.

( I must admit, it brings great pain inside me to think of the notion of toning down the speech )
