Well if only adding armor is the key, simply give them a Flag Armor upgrade, let's say x10 instead of the regular top x4...



I would be reluctant to vote for factionized flagships... As jinx stated, players like their odds - Equal. If a faction can spend 1600M on a ship, why couldn't an indeependant pilot.

And capital ships are not as useless as It may appear at first glance, it is just that the mod is balanced for 1 on 1, giving every player similar chance, and as soon as 2 on 1 cracks open you start having trouble and odds fall from there forward, That's all due to lenghty combat... as even without supernovas 6 bombers can deal the same damage as a battleship, and cost what 36 milion?

If you however do get destroyed by two bombers you should hire a trainer and start training as something is wrong with your skills...

I regulary fly In cap against many bombers and fighters, and even 4 bombers if meet with prompt accurate fires can be fended of. While a bomber does his run if you can put sufficent fire on him he will go down no sweat. But for that you need skill, the comodity trading characters seldom invest in. And traders buy battleships... not warriors it seems.

As far as balance goes, if we would double capital ship's damage things would look a lot diffrent, and those 12000k energy munching cannons would be worth their salt.

Humm... But no. I concurr. Sorta. Except for the 3x armor. The upgrade already gives that much. And I really don't want to see a RH BS with 6 Billion armor.

Anywho, with all the rediculous stuff that happens (Corsairs for instance) in regards to faction rape, that could potentially be a few ships. Actually, mostly just for the Corsairs and OC's. Benitez, OPG, TBH - SOB, 101st<-(Sameish?)->RoS. The list goes on, but those came to mind first.

Really, the only problem would be unlawfuls. There seem to be loads of them around... I think half of them quit the LSF/SA to join the other team. The other House pirates... Well... They've sorta fluxuated. Not sure what to think about them, but I know Liberty is raped almost every day.

as for the armour why the hell not its a more pheasible idea than creating the ship and its million not billion magoo! and honestly why the hell not, 6 million armour is very pheasible in my opinion, 4 million being remotely pheasible leaning towards the still needs more side. like i said the fact 3 bombers can kill a battleship in a almost 80-90% likelyhood is stupid, anymore being utter rape is even more stupid

Mmm... Right. SORRY for a quickly typed math error.

Still the RHeinland BS has, what? 700K armor. I will refuse to play this game if I have to come up against a moon. Why not go so far as make the Death Star? Or a move-able spacestation? I mean, while we're on the topic of 45 minute long cap battles. Now, unless you intend to pump up the weapon damage as well. Now, hypothetically, we come up against the stupid-rich owner of one of these things (faction leader, I know).

Assuming that stupid-rich just got richer and... OMGASP! He has an armor upgrade! 2.1 Million armor just got multiplied by 3! So now, we have stupid-rich god-ship which couldn't be taken out even with the entirety of a House's Navy. Sure, the shield wouldn't last long, but with 6.3 million armor at 3K per weapon shot from say, a normal dread. That thing's got about 600K armor and you've got 6.3 million. Need I do the math?

Two Dreadnoughts at about 3K damage per weapon, we'll say 12 for this instance, 36K of damage per volley. Times two, 72K damage. It would take 87 shots to the Super-Ship's hull in order to kill it. And say one of the Dreadnoughts died half-way to killing the Super-ship. That drops it back down to 36K per shot and buys it 25% more time to kill that one, which it would no doubt succeed in. Nanobots not included.

And lo, it becomes an "Indies vs Factions" thread.

Why would an INDEPENDENT NAVY BATTLESHIP (contradiction ftw) be allowed to have equal stats as the nation's most prized ship? Doesn't make sense to me.

Maybe indie Battleship is the wrong term, but unfactionized battleship...

The player factions don't necessarily represent the entire Navy (the exception being the RM I guess), there is always room for someone to RP being in the navy but not under the factions control. (the 106th is a great example)

In the end it is a game, and we should do what is FAIR to all players. If the faction can get an uber capship, so should indies. (Under the same restrictions)

well like i said earlier i now throw away my factions only statement and think that ALL people wishing to get the armour (since i reckon the armour to be a better idea than a mk2) should submit to prooving its worth in it all. thus making it fair for everyone just as much work needs to be done for official factions than unfactionized players
