Make sieged PoBs harder to maintain.

Right now it is like... 10 BSs are shooting the PoB for 5 hours.
Then a single trader makes supply runs for one hour - and - voila - the base is in it's previous condition.
So, 50 manhours of siege equal to one manhour of supplying.
Seriously?

Depends on what character it is when you get stopped. I have a GMG trader for a couple of the harder to get cargoes sold only on bases that don't let the IMG dock at - can be solved easily. A supply contract for specific goods does the trick.

Also, what upsets me, is that there is absolutely no need to defend the bases.
Just supply them in time, and all possible attacks will fail.
The the bases' owners MUST provide attackers with sorta.. RP and PvP, but it usually doesn't happen with core 2+ bases.

Thus, I support Yuri's proposal about bases vulnerability periods.

Regarding base sieges , Sava there is one thing to count in.

Whz we siege bases at all? On this thread when you mentione make bases easier to kill does it mean just for the purpose of lowering its number? I have such an impression.

But easy base destroy as good problem solver for non RP or OORP or community useless bases, is ridicoulous for instance (i dont wanna mention my station) Falster station of IMG .

So my question #Sava , why some important station with backstory behind it would be a victim of changing rules cause of plenty of annonimous half oorp self redundant depots who are actually problem here?

If bases get too weak , bunch of lolcap hunters will purge all at the server. I know how it goes. Admins need to solve this. One POB base roll call that all people report relevant forum reports what have they done with bases and on which scale to improve RP environment. Whatever trade , correspondence , diplomacy , conflicts...

And put bases SRP that was said zillions times from many people .

I am not for "easy to destroy" bases.
I am for bases that require bigger playerbases to maintain.
Bases should sink more time - be it supply runs, credits investments or defences.
So, it would end up in having fewer bases with more interested players behind each of them.

Edit: And, of course, the base that gets shot often, must be way harder to maintain than a "peaceful" one.

Well if your base can't stand to some lolcaps, maybe it deserves to be purged, because your base does not have the support required, altough create hassle for hostile faction. For example, falster is build in very annoyin location and would be first target for corsairs to annihilate.

I see bases as team oriented objectives which involves many players and produces a lot of circumstances which gives new opportunities for intresting roleplay. Problem is that when bases are too strong this game goes only to one goalnet, while other side is just being pushed down.

It's essentialy powergaming, rathar than something all people can get involved due to flawed mechanic. Eventually it adds up to killing activity as people are less motivated to play in such setting.


That's why I propose that bases could be killed a lot easier in special scheduled event time.

What takes 10 men to build should take 1 man to destroy, altough, this is a game and sides should be 50/50. Currently, once you build a base, it takes few people to maintain it if any, and 15 or more to destroy. This is just nonsense.

How about we move the PoBs to a new server? and whenever there are planned events let's say, base attacks for example, people will go there and do the events; exactly like we did with the Bretonian and Gallic events and Bretonian and Kusari events with a separate server for fights.

You were complaining about Falster and the lost piracy spot.
I actually agree partially.
I redesign of the defense grid has already been decided on.
I was delaying it because I wanted to see how many regens the announced "kill platforms-drain regens" plug-in eats.

So... your complaint has been heard.
It will be reacted to, because I hate blocking bases and (even though it is no blocking base) don't want to be a part of that.

The base will not be BS-cerbing passing enemies, but will provide (dangerous) close-support for friends of Falster who flee there. So you can pirate there, but people green to IMG can "duck" into the defense grid.
