Go find yourself another faction/have fun within confines of what Zoner is.
The fact of the matter is that, regardless of whether you think it was a good idea or not, the Zoners of today bear little resemblance to the Zoners of vanilla. You seem to have a very limited view of what the Zoners are/should be. What makes the Zoners of today less valid to you? Just because we changed it? We've made up entire factions, made entirely new systems and new/edited ships for those factions to use. Many of them, like ROS, like Phantoms, like HL, then died soon after. Yet, the Zoners are still going strong, and still have activity everywhere.
Further, the Zoners are responsible for much of the development of other factions. The Order's wiki page, for example, states how important the Zoners are to you. I don't see how you can justify putting the Zoners in a tiny box that constrains their desires/capabilities/influence, when they are an important part of the existence of your faction, and many others.
I don't want to turn this into another Zoner debate, though. I will only say that the RoS and Zoners were close before, and so it would make sense for the Zoners to move in and take over the stations so that the few people still living there don't die, especially since groups are starting to fight over Gran Canaria. Things could be arranged in such a way that could make Cayman, and the SW Omegas in general, a hotbed of activity, and give indie Zoners who want to fight a place to do it.
This is one possible solution, there are others, including removal/reclamation of the assets.
Well I wouldn't go as far as to say 'no', for the reason that they have their own system already. There are many Zoner systems, as there are many Outcast systems. Corsair systems. Nothing says you can't have more than one system.
I admit, I am not the most knowledgeable on the subject, however Trogdor does bring up a few valid points. If the RoS were truly to fade away, the Zoners are already quite important to them. Why not merely.. transfer assets, and disband? Better than leaving it empty or blank.
ffs, Zoners are a diverse group of people, not a co-ordinated group. They don't have enough man power to build and maintain, so many stations, and now, they are requesting for some more? The capships are meant to be mobile bases, for the Zoner populace... and I don't think they need more bases than all those Nephilims.
Problem with simply transfering it to the Zoners is that IRPly the Coalition has it's sights set on taking Cayman's resources to fuel their efforts against the Corsairs in the region, there would likely be trouble if the Zoners simply took it over without any agreement with the Coalition beforehand considering RoS and the Coalition are bitterly at war.
Ok here my Idea, give it to coalition because IRP they can have it with a fight or Make it freelancer system as Black market ship and other production hub and a place for pirates, black coats, freelancer and other like them.what you think
edit; IRP if coalition take it, it make sense because coalition can attack and take over but zoners can not attack an allied faction because if zoners take it without a fight then the question IRP still stand what happened to RoS.
You can ignore reality but you can not ignore consequences of ignoring reality
So, a thread about RoS dead or alive derails into who will get Cayman after Reapers are removed. And now, everybody and their mom wants Cayman for their factions. I can see where this is going : ))))))
