We would have to extend beacons to a several minutes lifespan to do something like this, so it's not impossible, the problem is more how the game is supposed to know who your allies are. Any solution I can think of is very time consuming to put in place.

Well, The Jump Drive isn't obsolete, the Beacon just replaces the Hyperspace thingy from before. This is an awesome development. You guys rock.

it doesnt...it only gives an option for a more stable jump location and one that can be available at the right moment and location,think of it like this...you're a trader ,you meet a pirate in kepler/galileo and you have equipped a hyperspace matrix,you send a message to LN/LNS to jump to your location,pirate is gonna have a wtf moment when out of the blue he sees 10 caps in front of him..

the matrix doesnt have a limitation of what can be used upon or am i wrong to think so? (not what can be mounted)

At the moment it can be equiped on all ships capable of mounting a JD/Survey Scanner or anything. It's a type 1 equipment.
We can always expand the range of vessels that can use it through mod modifications.

I wonder how this would change if, perhaps, a feature that is bought on regular bases - rather than POB ones and restricted to LFs only?
This would make them more than just a scouting vessel.

Can we get that extended to 60 Sec , since waaay complicated names are very often and if you have to type name like :
/jumpbeacon [XT]|WG|-A-Black_Hawk/(B) , you need way more time that 30 sec for that , especially if you cant pre-type while Jump System is charging and wait , because first you have to sent him message when you are at 95 % to activate beacon ?

Sounds like a nice thing. But, still, where is the docking system? 'Cuz it's absense had killed the idea of carrier ships.

Whilst being an interesting idea on it's own, it's counter-RP to do so. If a technology is fittable to Light Fighters, why it can't be fitted to anything bigger? Where are the reasons actually prohibiting from doing so, which will be physical/real-worldy in RP environment?

a good question a friend of mine asked.

"/jumpbeacon [LN]-LNS-Mount.Hood" <<< there is no kind of password or security here all i have to do is to type the ship that hold the new module and i jump to it.... what if the enemy do the same ? he will be able to take an advantage and jump to the same location using our beacon cords ?

Is there a way that the "/beaco" command creat5 also something like 4 octets or digits password to be given to the jumping ship once the beaco is activated for more security and to prevent the enemy from using the same method to jump to the Matrix ship location ?

it was considered to add a protection for a moment but in the end it was decided with the current beacon timeframe the chances of something like this happening are really slim. It would also require the person to provide the password to other players. It can be added to the possible enhancements list though.
