It's an argument you brought up, so don't give me that. You rarely see NEMPs being used, and that only in cases when majors fleets collide and especially when the stakes are high. This was the case last night. Your guys have used any means necessary to win, amassing more than 20 capital ships over the two hours of battle, Core had way less. Corsairs brought quite a number of gunboats as well. The Corsair/Order side - if you look at the linked recording - had at least a third more players brought into the fight. It's evidentally. The NEMP didn't hurt the siege attempt at all, neither did the jumps. All that got hurt was the ego of a few people who were rather unfortunate here. There was quite a bunch of people who got upset last night, but I actually expect people to have calmed down instead of instrumentalizing the unique case of yesterday to get things altered in their favor.

Check the video if you don't trust my words here, Clavius.

I believe what really ruined Delta fights was neither the capability to cloak jump, nor the NEMP bomb. The real problem was the fact there was something at stake, something that the defender's side would physically lose and people's work that the attacker's side would enjoy seeing put to ruin. When dying actually starts to matter people tend to act at their worse. Smile

NEMP and jump drive+cloak needs tweaking, but the last few days was just simply amazing for me and I hope more than a few. Numbers won as always in the end which would always feel bland to me, but this time there was more than numbers included and it was fun to see it all happen. Needless to say, I'll remember this time with fond memories. I personally would actually be happy if I was on the receiving end of an NEMP explosion or Erzie's wild charge.

But on topic, I know many will not feel like me, and they're right for being annoyed when they find themselves in the uncharted and need to fly to the edge of the system. I am also concerned about NEMP being too common. I'd rather have these NEMP being even more rare so their appearance would be even more fun when they do, but I don't think their effectiveness should be reduced in any way.

Sombra, I don't think this discussion is meant to be about the finer points of last night's fight, about Sairs/Order vs Core and others, or about base siege mechanics.
It's about tactics that are "cheap", pretty much impossible to counter in a real world scenario, and pretty unfun for the people involved, regardless of which side uses them. The issue is that these tactics take away from traditional fleet engagement strategy and turn these fights into a race to be the first to press the gimmick button that allows individuals to influence or more accurately ruin a group fight to an extent that individual ships probably shouldn't be able to.

NEMP blast radius is getting reduced back to 5k and the power requirement is going to be introduced. To what class - remains to be seen. This will at last help against snubs ramming into their targets with it.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Did that happen, tho?

Karst, you had plenty of ships with CDs around. Don't tell me you weren't able to counter it. NEMPs are used on large battlegroups and those was one. Snubs and up to battlecruisers can CD them and at least reduce the possible damage by having it explode in the distance. In most cases I've witnessed the NEMPs being launched from a distance. People can cruise out. If enemy snubs are around to CD, they are likely to get hit by the NEMP as well. Usually you launch NEMPs not into your own groups.

Twice during the GRN-LN cali battles. I did not care much at that point since it was a respawn-enabled event, but I can see how a cloaked ship with a nemp that can fire while cruising is kinda bad for gameplay, yah.

There are currently discussions about the properties (and effects 8|) used by the thing to make it more noticeable too.

At least BattleCruisers please , Snubs , Gunbats and even some small Cruisers can approach to easy , fire NEMP and retreat unharmed .
