Being proven right time after time puts a smile on my face, but anyhow, about time you all admit Discord is cancer and it's time to look for a replacement that users themselves control.
As I said recently in the TFP chat, I do not want to wait 2+ years floundering around as we slowly migrate on to another platform. There are fewer of us and we are older, and I really hope it will be easier for us to say "ah well, we've done this once already."
Yes, we need to find a suitable candidate first. But after that let's just rip the bandage and move.

They existed for longer than Discord did and will likely still around after it (hopefully) dies the ignoble death it earned.
For plain text communication you got IRC and Jabber.
For VoIP and also plain text there's Mumble.
All of these replacements do a better job at everything Discord does, starting by being owned and controlled by users, which is the most important aspect.
It is my personal belief that Discovery's culture is too tied up in streaming at this point for us to migrate to a platform without screenshare, but I may yet be surprised.
may i present to you the wonder that is teamspeak 6
steam also did a Steam Groups rework that resembles discord, but you need to do a steam broadcast to share your screen instead.
steam groups also have the massive downside of only holding 2 weeks worth of chat logs

Has it crossed your mind that maybe people spending more time staring at livestreams in a voice room on Discord rather than playing games together makes no sense? And that Discord has been designed throughout the last years to manipulate people routines and siphon as much of their free time so they spend it doing nothing important on Discord rather than, for example, playing games or doing something else to distract yourself or be productive?
The culture on Discord is the worst thing Discord has and it's something completely out of a social engineering psyop, because it revolves around trying to keep you hooked into the platform as much as possible so you feed their servers with more data, data that they need to make profits as that's their business model. If people spends less time on Discord, that's less time you're printing money for them, and they don't want that, that's why Discord has been trying hard to be an "everything app" and it's why rich pigs like Elon Musk are so obsessed with programs that can do everything, because that way no matter what source of dopamine your brain demands, they can provide.
personally i stopped caring years ago. we blast our personal data around like its going out of style, if its facebook, google or tiktok or whatever.
we all know this push towards identification, is and never will be for "child protection", its about governmental control of the population.
It doesnt matter if its the us, uk or eu. they all want the same thing and any company that exists in these regions WILL be forced to comply with there regulations.
the questions is not if, its when this will happen. whatever programm you pick will inevidibly forced to comply with those regualtions or they can pack there stuff up and head out.
sadly thats the world we life in.
Everyone will tell you small lies, except the people you love, who will tell you large ones.
