Hell, what would even be the point of being a Gaian, wasting time? How many TERRAFORMING GASSES smugglers do you get through edinburggh? HMMM?

really lol, think about it.

You're clearly not finding the potential roleplay in this Cam, and your hostility is vaguely concerning.

Not having caps doesn't make the faction any less important or worthy of the time that people put into it.

The point in being a gaian is that the roleplay wis appealing to some, it adds greater depth to the server as a whole, gives the BAF another enemy (factions can't survive without 'em, expecialy military ones) and makes me happy that someone is out there doing it.

Now I suggest that before you go bashing another NPC faction because you don't find it appealing you think again. It was a little stupid really, and frankly a little over done.

Simply saying you don't find it appealing would have done, rather than using your massively oversized red text, or perhaps (now heres a radical idea) not posting at all and keeping your opinion to yourself.

Thank you.

One thing I think quite strongly about the Mollies is wanting them to expand into Omega 49, its current location being right next to the Molly base, and all them damned corsairs coming out of it, there should be effort to unhinge the corsairs from 49, who are already heavily pressed by the Hessians in the system just next to omega 49.

And with the suppossed Corsair protection of zoners in that area, there may be either hostile relations to zoners, or an attempt to gain the 'protection contract' from the zoners by removing the sairs.

(though recent sair diplomacy points to zoners being hostile or something, so it would be mostly liberation perhaps?).

*watches the thread turn into a corsair hijack*

I always wondered the same kind of thing as Markam, really. It's something quite interesting, really. Though they might unofficially back the Corsair presence, the Zoners could never really admit that, lest they risk their neutrality, and so a Molly invasion of Corsair-esque territory would be quite the challenge for the Zoners to Roleplay. Of course, entrenched Corsairs would be hard to kick out, and bloody fights would ensue, if the Mollys could gain a foothold.

Cam the AFA dont have caps, but it seems we were significant enough for you to complain in your siggy about us taking you off your coin. So maybe caps dont make the man, thats sure seems spot on when it comes to you.

I like it as a derrogatory term, but it stopped being as amusing to me when new people kept coming on the server & thought that that's what the Gaians actually were.

Now it's like having to do 'damage control' all the time

If I only knew then what I know now...;)

Seriously, though, I can see another potential angle for the Gaians to not like the Mollys. The Mollys are miners, a trade that traditionally is bad for a planet's environment. Granted, most of the mining the Mollys do is on asteroids, but imagine if they found significant deposits of Gold on Gaia. Dublin isn't that far away from Edinburgh, so the Mollys might try to get a piece of that, if only to stop BMM in its tracks.

Granted, that's all speculation and what-if's, but it is possible.

By the way, what is the stance the Gaians have toward the IMG? I know the Mollys are against them, but I haven't noticed how the Gaians and IMG react to each other out in Tau-31.

It's official, I have too few ships now...

I coulda sworn the IMG and Mollys were buddies, at least indirectly, since they both dislike BMM a great deal...

I know! right?!

Heya Knucklehead, long time no see:D

Anyhoo, IMG goes green naturally when doing Gaian missions, so we are forced on occasion to smack 'em back down to neutral to keep our reps kosher

They also trade on the Hood. I always thought of them as neutral leaning towards friendly but only in a business sort of way. Like they'd have a drink together and talk about mining and laugh at problems at BMM together, but they wouldn't help each other develop ships.

Quote:By the way, what is the stance the Gaians have toward the IMG?

I've actually noted quite a bit of debate about that, but generally I'd say an uneasy neutrality. After all, they both dislike BMM and the Outcasts, so they'd certainly appreciate each others' actions against them, but I don't think they'd overly announce that in Bretonia either. They could run into problems with the piratical Gaians at times, but I generally see it as being in the best interests for both of them to just ignore the other.

IMG and Mollies are on wierd terms. They both have common enemy, but then again, IMG is shooting OC while mollies are supposed to be OC allies.

Whole bretonian politics as such are big mess of chaotic links that dont really function.

My characters personal view of Molly and Gaian politics in bretonia:

Molly:

On Outcasts:
OC are siding with enemy and do so openly. We have no real use for them, since they have their own base in bretonia, they can peddle their Cardi around, and we dont even use their ships except for destroyer, and since we have Foyle shipyard i think we could make destroyers on our own.

On Rogues:
We share ship designs and do trade with eachother. Nothing else really. They are hardcore pirates, we are supposed to be separatists.

Red Hessians:
Only faction close enough to hurt Corsair front where we need it. Also we share our goals and our roots.

On Gaians:
They are in some sort of alliance with Corsairs but they never supported their attacks, or used corsair tech. Moreso, our goals hardly colide. Hence its more neutral than hostile.

On Bretonia:
We only want dublin and disbanding of BMM. We are not really intent on destroying bretonia as whole.

On Kusari:
Kusarians are shooting bretonians. If they pass too deep into bret territory we will shoot them because if they take over we will never get our freedom.

On Corsairs:
You murdered us, our planet and our people without any sensible reason. You will feel our wrath!

Gaian:

On Corsairs:
Yeah, nobody knows why. But id like to keep away from them. I dont want to pirate for sake of it i want terraforming to stop since its crime to enviroment.

On Outcasts:
They shoot us for unknown reasons.

On FA, Hogosha:
They are good source of new pilots and some material help. Other than that, they are best kept on arms lenght.

On Molly:
They want one system for themselves. And its system without planets as such. Let them have it. No point on wasting resources on it.

On Bretonia:
We want you to stop destroying enviroment because we think its better left unchanged.

On Kusari:
Ok, they are pressing bretonia but they shouldnt be alowed to pass too deep into bret line.

I'd like to make a little note about this... The OC do not openly side with the crown. Infact it's extremely under the table and only goes as far as "we wont hassle each other"

However, the Molly's have been considered allies, active, and important for rather a long time.

The fight against the corsairs is both the OC and Molly's top priority. The sharing of information and indeed assisting each other (the OC from cape wrath) in fight against the corsairs is something entirely possible.

This is rather related to the fact you seem to (from an outside perspective) side heavilywith the corsairs, and have corsair backing.

The Gaians are not a group the OC persue an active war with, and have no intentions of doing so. Our only arguement with you is the Corsair ties.
