As a drummer entering my second year of playing--Definitely the drums. Much more satisfying, and you feel like you've accomplished every time you get off the kit exhausted. Whereas if I play a guitar, I feel bored and end up putting it down after a few minutes and kick whoever is on my kit off.

To me there is nothing better than the whine of a perfectly executed pinch harmonic followed by vibrato and a sudden rush of hammer-on's and slides.

Everyone is different:)

You wont achieve that sound 13 when I steals your EMG Pickups! And then your Floyd Rose... So long as I dont have to restring it coz thats a ***** to do with a Floyd Rose.

Anyway Virus, though you slandered my machinima I will give you some advice. The Drums are probably a win here, as many people have said, EVERYONE plays the guitar and there is a shortage of good drummers out there. Although the guitar is awesome, drums should give you a better sense of individuality and you will be more wanted for bands.

Guitars are good. I like them better than drums for some reason. Maybe it's just because I have bad experiences with them. It doesnt matter that everyone can play guitar, loads of people can play the drums too.

I vote guitar.

Listen to some Ozzy Osbourne songs and you should see my reason why.
- Crazy Train
- Bark at the Moon

At the end of the day, you should probably choose the one you like most, regardless of what we say. If you enjoy beating things with sticks more than mashing your fingers, then go for it:)

In my opinion, it depends on how "showy" you are. If you like to show off to your friends, the general public, anywhere any time. you may want to consider the guitar cause lugging around a drum set is a b. -OR- if you enjoy playing in front of people for the heck of it

If your not as showy, or you are really really showy and force your friends, and anyone who will listen to the nearest drum set, then go for the drums.

Odd fact... Subway performers actually have a license to perform in the NYC subway system. They don't just randomly set up down there. (I think the Naked Cowboy in Time Square has a license too... no idea where he keeps it though...)
