I just finished playing the single player campaign (a refresher, having not done it in about 4 years.)
I'm assuming everyone has completed the single player campaign before, but in case some haven't, this is a spoiler alert then.
There are 2 clues that Orilion gives us at the end of the campaign about the future of the Order:
1)He mentions having cleaned out all the possesed Liberty and Reinland government/military officials. After trent uses the tampered-with artifact to destroy the powered ruin they found in the Dyson sphere we know that the Nomad's then-current avenue for invading Sirius was destroyed. The image is of Nomad ships being sucked into some sort of rift created by the destruction of the ruin, but no true explaination of what is happening is given. This is possibly what is being researched at the lab orbiting the similar nomad ruin in NewCastle. Perhaps those scientists will reveal what the true origins of the Nomads are, give us more information about the Dom Kovash, and give evidence of what further threats to the humans in Sirius they pose. At the very least, this gives the Order reason to continue on and be active in Sirius. The Order would see Trent's accomplishment as merely a won battle in a greater war to save Sirius.
1)He asks Trent to be the Order's "eyes in Liberty," implying the Order suspects there are Nomad remnants they failed to detect. This would be the primary purpose for any player in Disco wanting to be a true Order pilot. Order affiliated players in Disco should be rooting out remnants of Nomad-infested elements in Sirius. Currently, the only faction doing this sort of role play on the disco server is the SF. The SF does an admirable job with this, especially Ant and Firebird, however I believe it would be more appropriate if an Order-affiliated faction would take more of a lead role in this effort than a Bretonia Armed Forces faction would.
There are any number of things the Order should be doing in the Disco mod.
Lets look at a few of these:
1)What happened to Kusari? All of a sudden we have the Kusari waging war on Bretonia. This could possibly mean there are nomad remnants infesting the Shogunate even now-driving them to create war in another attempt to weaken the houses for a nomad slaughter in the future. We never learn if Tekagi was successful in infesting any of the Kusari Shogun before he was blown to smitherenes. We DO know that Lord Hakerra returned to the Blood Dragons, apparently on an Order assignment, at the end of the SP campaign-what was he assigned to do?
2)The Bretonians seemed to be the only house government that weathered the whole ordeal without getting infiltrated. They were fighting off the Reinland fleet close to the end, so they seemed to have their heads about them, but that doesn't mean there aren't low level officials that weren't infested somehow.
And dont even get me started on Liberty and Reinland. They were so infested it would be impossible to get all the blue worms out. The Order should be hitting these two governments continuously, working with the Bundshuh and Rogues/xenos...
This server needs better Order representation. The Order is the primary story-driving faction for Freelancer and they are currently represented by a StarWars faction. No offence meant to Dboy, but this is a truely large hole in the role play tapestry of Discovery 24/7.
And I will mention it again...there needs to be well regulated distribution of nomad-IDs to highly motivated and RP-experience players to play nomads-this gives Order factions a very real day to day threat to fight.
Wow, this is all in all very good Yngen, It sad one such as you decided to leave.
But I will agree with you, the order acts as a sort of 'Inquisition' know ammonts the lawfuls for rooting out the infestied and the heretics and nomad cults and the like. (Yes, As Im sure you guys hasve guessed it, I like the word 'Inquisition') They really could be Represented mroe on the server, as Terrorist like they were in the SP campaign.
Some VERY ncie points there, We just need people to look at them.
We could form... the Spanish Inquisition! With shiny red capes, and...
Seriously though, that was an awsome presentation of the whole order thing *applause* the only problem is... nomad ID's and tags will give acces to the lost battlestar, and giving these things out will degenarate into the biggest flamewar in history.
Oh, and didn't the SF originally start out in liberty or something? I can't remember.

' Wrote:I believe to change the model you would have to first import it from Homeworld into Milkshape (there is no way I have found to import Freelancer models into Milkshape). After getting the model from Homeworld into Milkshape (assuming there is a plugin), you can use Milkshape to adjust the mesh and texture. Afterwards you can use the exporters that can be found at the Lancers Reactor to export out a compatable model for freelancer.
I have not looked for a Homeworld plugin for Milkshape however. An additional program needed will be hard CMP. I suggest picking up a guide on modeling from the Lancers Reactor and using it as a guidline. The main reason for the delay on the models I am working on is getting the textures for them. There is no way I could find to extract the mesh or texture from any freelancer model.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, Mohr.
I used 3D Studio MAX to model my little atmospheric fighter earlier in this thread, by the way. I hope moving to Milkshape won't be that hard of a learning curve?
Also, awesome Order discussion. That's excellent, Yngen. I don't know what I could possibly add to that, at this time.

Ya, you can use 3DSmax then import the model into Milkshape. There shouldn't be much of a change in the model. All I know is that Milkshape is the only program that allows you to make Freelancer compatable models.
On another note, if people can provide me with screen shots of the textures for the BHG and Kusari ships (namely the textures) that would rock. I am working on the textures for my models, but getting some good pallets for photoshop to make them is difficult. Any help on getting testures for them would be apreciated.
On the subject of the Order; love the information and explanation on their RP. I do not have much time to play let alone read the rumors, other than the Kusari/Bretonia war, what other rumors of note are there that are unique to Discovery? (I know I should go and find out myself)
Oh, something I just realized, seeing as I just got to that stage...
The cloaking device stuff... I honestly wondered why everyone in Sirius seems to be so skeptical about the technology. Nearly a century before the launch of the sleeper ships, the Alliance and the Coalition had perfected Cloaking devices. As well as a form of inter-planetary warp travel (Didn't one of the Coalition Warp Gates get a ship to travel from Venus all the way to Neptune in one of the early StarLancer missions? Then you travel the other way with like your whole squadron and it takes like no time at all. I think one wingman (or your Rizzo, or backseat driver) made the comment about 'halfway across the system in a matter of seconds'). Why both Trade Lanes and Cloaking devices required Alien involvement in Sirius, I have no idea. It's kinda silly. 100 years of having access to inter-planetary warp drives and Cloaking devices, and none of that seems to be carried over along with the sleeper ships.

No they don't. Lost Battlestar is Admin faction.
Nomad bases would help a lot. Other servers allow for Nomad factions but without bases, Zoner affiliation is sort of needed for the Nomads to give them somewhere to dock.
Zoner affiliation for Nomads is just a bit out of RP don't you think?
Having a Nomad player faction would give the Order more reason to operate and offer a lot more RP.
Thanks for the appreciative comments about RP Yngen.:)
I think we should bring DBoy in on this Order conversation. Since he does lead the Order faction that is here.
Also, those who wish can be a nomad GROUP. I have a Nomad Fighter that is full Nomad (With exception to shield, since there is no Nomad shield), with 3 Cannons, Nomad Thruster, and Phantom Terrorist ID (Xenos didn't really fit because I'm not a Xenos, I'm an enemy of ALL factions) with the Xenos tag so I show red to the greatest amount of people.
Other players can do the same thing. I use my Nomad char and assist the Phantoms at times, such as Darkstar in his endeavors in Honshu.
There doesn't necessarily have to be an official faction for nomads. Simply make some characters, get the right equipment, and work like a group.
If DBoy decides to have Bs| take an active role of the routing of Nomad infested officers, I might make a Rheinland and Liberty pilot/ship captain to use for that role. I would act like a normal military/police officer, but also fan some flames between factions, though that would require the other house factions to follow with me, as they wouldn't know that I was infested. It would be up to the Order to prove that fact and deal with me.
So if I took my RM-tagged (NPC, not player faction) ship and made an attack on the SF in Cambridge, the Sf can't just know I'm infested. My name would be just like a normal one, such as RNC-Xiasus (that is currently my AW RH-Cruiser name, so you won't see that one, just an example) without any hint of being infested.
If more players got into the after-story-line RP we could get this going farther.
