The Admins have all but abandoned us. WE NEED MORE ADMINS. Kudos to Dusty however, it's not fair that the other 8 or 9 Admins leave the dirty work to one guy.

Morning folks. Just thought I'd remind you that just because one admin is posting sanctions is doesn't mean the rest arn't doing anything.



On the note of the levels of OOC chat I've seen lately, well, yeh it sucks doesn't it. But honestly I'm far more concerned by trying to get to the source of all the a-hole like behaviour and putting a stop to that. Y'know, the stuff that causes the demolition of any kind of community spirit we had. Removes trust all together, takes personal distputes in game and turns them into roleplay, causing well known and respected players to swear at other well known and respected players, then get banned for it.

Y'know, that kind of thing. Which honestly, is a far -far- bigger problem.

The fact I've heard rumours and seen chatlogs implying that people are trying to "remove <blank> from the face of discovery". Oh yeh, and that's not coming from someone who is known to be a troll or a massive douche, no, that's someone who's opinion I respect and I consider to be level headed.

So my prioirity is getting those of us who do actualy roleplay to learn to treat each other like god-damned human beings.

I couldn't care less about the lolwutting multitude, they're easy to deal with and it'll be done once they reach the top of the priorities pile... What's a lot harder to deal with are the people who are already a part of this community behaving like vindictive idiots.

This week had a lot of admin's work. The whole thing with the Stock Exchange, a lot of sanctions were made, Cannon is always working even if you don't see his posts.

Just last night, there were 3 admins online, lecturing people in bastille.
Joe gave all the money back from the last scam.
Cannon restored 4 of my chars because my account was messed up.
I've seen Laowai often ingame.
And the other who has not opened their mouths, keep working where we can't see them.

From what I've learned both here and in-game about lolwuters is that some of them can actually be learned and they listen. That's good. But others just don't listen and there's -nothing- you can do about them unless you got some godly power. Even as an admin, you'd ban his account... So what, he makes a new one! IP banning is not a good idea in my opinion. But yes, possibly they would get tired. But you'd do nothing else but putting lots of people into Bastille or on ban-list.

Another problem are those who don't speak English at all or very little. But also, there is almost nothing you could do about it.

The only real solution would be putting some sort of filter on system/local chat. No words from other languages (except those used already from Japanese, Spanish and German), especially loosing the support of Russian alphabet. In local / system chat, I mean.

Now come on, these topics should be in flood already. Too much of them around.

Well...maybe its time to bring up the idea (again) of having server police.
Honestly, with the size of the server,and given the number of admins and their work-load,I fail to see why there are not server police.
1 or 2 " cops on patrol " is worth more than 50 cops at the station.
I have played on servers, granted though not as busy as this one, where a server cop is never less than 1 minute away( the time it takes to swap accounts).
They have quasi-admin powers ( the ability to cloak to see whats happening) and deal with the offender (either talking to them,or reporting directly to the admin on duty).

And for the person who put up the link for the sanctions form for dealing with these players...........
What I see here after being here over 2 years is that the "play-ability" consists of how fast you can hit screen-shot or fraps and file a report,not dealing with the players in question.
We cannot talk to the players and explain the rules to them without screenshotting or frapping the whole conversation,because if you explain some of the rules and consequences,then they nail you for "rule-lawering" and what ever the rule is for "immitating an admin".

This server is, honestly, starting to get ridiculous. Here I am, flyin through edinburgh, and I come upon a group of roughly 10 players, none of them with tags, consisting of several transports, a bhg gunboat (orca), a GMG bomber... nobody's using appropriate ID, they've all got holds full of gaian wildlife, and not a word of RP could be squeezed out of them. The second I got into the system, they were full of OOC comments in system chat.

Admins, for the love of god crack down on these idiots.

It has gotten rather out of control lately, and no, it is not just caps.
Is discovery getting more people or are they just the same lolwutters?

Hateful attitude will not get you or the server anywhere you might like. Doesn't improve your image, either. I recommend pouring a large mug of ice-cold water on top of your head, then posting. What you saw there might not have been optimal but - what did you do to help it?

I've seen a lot of threads where quite a few of the posters seem concerned with the fall-of-Babylon (Discovery), but I've experienced a great surge in newbie RP to the point that it's quite heartening. Eight out of ten baby power traders I stop as a pirate get into the flow of RP by the third sentence. Corsairs talk before murdering me.

Everywhere I turn there is goodness and happiness. Well, apart from that one powertrader who kept logging off on the otherside of a jumphole and summoning his BHG destroyer, anyway. Isolated incident, says I!

Also, much love to Dusty. I read the first sentence of your earlier post about Goose and thought, "But Goose dies...", then I read to the end and laughed.

You just have to read the nicks of the guys. Half of New York System is infected with fanciless names. And in the rules is written for RP nicks...dont make me laugh. I have to admit - i was first to be expecting somewhat from this server, just to see now, that's not what it seems. Those people dont care about the rules, do what they want and you could watch this all day long. Of course there will always be threads with such discussions. Closing wouldn't change anything neither in here, as like in NY to shout 'shut up - don't just ducksitting, get your hands on the keyboard and play'.:D
