what happens is a reaction of what happens against zoners... AND within the zoner faction(s). all that was done is in RP - and that is what counts.

Oh yeah? So if another group start shooting Zoners somewhere else they'll just pack up and go as an RP responce? Do we really have the ability to chase all Zoners from Sirius?

it was said several times that many a factions can easily destroy a freeport ( like fp2 between rheinland and liberty, or bretonia purging fp1 or other freeports ) it was even made quite clear by some players that some freeports only exist cause they let them. ( like fp9 and corsairs )

now - yesterdays attack was aimed at fp9 - it fell... what is not inRP to abandon it and chase zoners away. some characters roleplay is to run away - others may not, this time, some of them ran - maybe there are zoners who like to RP a desperate defense of a crippled station - thats their right to do so.

but if you don t want a faction pushed out of a place, you don t need to RP it... and if you want to have a competitive situation without permanent results, you need to attempt cooperative pvp/RP.

I'd like to throw my weight behind supporting what the overwhelming majority of involved players (from both sides, a VERY important factor) are already doing. I'm not sure yet how far that all goes, but I think that not doing -something- would be a callous disregard for the ability of players to make their own choices.

Yep, Freeport 9 is gone. Zoners and Corsairs said so. Hell, no need for it to have been a roleplay event, with actual working base defenses, ZDF and indies in rocs/eagles and fearless'. Just gotta roll out a few orsiris', post a thread and Boom! Thousands die.

Freeport 9 is very nearly the only human population for hundreds of light years in every direction -- which is exactly the way the Zoners like it. Well yeah, I see it can be possible but the question is less aimed at giving the idea to others of performing such an act (as I know such an idea, draconic as it is, already appears to be on the minds of some). The question is aimed at the Zoners and if they are truly willing to throw all hands up in the air in apathy and fly away. I understand the RP is to run, and I can agree with that. We GMG allies have moved into Theta to help resecure your bases and keep them warm until the next Zoner occupants arrive or the current ones return. The underlying point is; will they come back? is this an RP retreat? or is this an OORP "I quit" thinly veiled in an RP post? We are willing to continue off where it left off no matter the choice and let the RP move it's course and attempt to resolve this with RP and pewpew. Keep an eye on Theta for the chance to return.

edit add: I'd like point out now after all this time of all these threads; that I have not taken part in any of the actions against Zoners, indeed as Guild Master of GMG I am part of the team over there helping the Zoners. My presence in these threads is due to my overwhlming desire to see the Zoners use an RP solution instead of the usual flood of OOC threads aimed to frustrate the admins until an OORP solution is slammed down like it has happened soo many times in the past.

Dab posted a Moderation thing in that topic saying "No more blowing up Zoner stations." Or something similar. So, I would believe it was just heavily damaged and not destroyed.

That was "No more Corsairs bombarding Zoner Freeports" and "No more Zoners/Order bombarding Corsair stations". I didn't say anything in regards to what the Zoners were doing to their own stations.
