I am 'this' close to selling it, it turns like a brick and has a HUGE hit box. The only redeeming factor? Its extreme uglyness causes opponents to wretch or laugh so hard In theory I could get an easy kill....

As for attacking a cap ship + GB with 3 bombers and 2 fighters...
that is totally different than 3 fighters and one bomber.
Now imagine that there were only 2 of your faction were on line like your attackers.
And your faction wasnt allowed anything bigger than a GB.
Do you think It would have been a fair fight then?

Any now I think I will just settle for what I get. and thank god for discovery.. no matter how it ends up looking for me

Why does it have to be a fair fight? I run from unfair fights all the time, part of the territory as an unlawful.

I fly the Barghest on a regular Basis (look at my Sig) and Its a good ship. I have flown it in the new beta and I am still liking it just fine. I don't think bombers need to be changed.

In a sense of real life, the only real advantage a Jet Fighter pilot has over a Battleship is that he is traveling over 100 MPH, compared the almost stationary Battleship. gotto figure out what we have in game - fighter bombers ( jets with bombs ) or bombers ( big planes with enough bombs to devastate a small town )



in freelancer, we do have fighter bombers - that is agile jets that happen to fire torpedos ( since there are no bombs ) - it would be funny to drop bombs though ( high explosive projectiles with no thruster - that just travelled with the momentum of the fighter .. like a mine that engine kills )



i voted for leave them the way they are anyway - ppl will find their way to use them effectivly - they still have the most powerful weapons in the game ( well, besides heavy mortars, but that doesn t really count )



and i think a wing of 2 bombers and a bit of fighter escort can take down just about anything ( that is a destroyer and bigger )

I think so... when 2 bombers are on and there comes an enemy with caps and no fighters (or just 1). The bombers can take quite big numbers....

Maybe you should check the "Omg they lost a lot of money" report by Razr in the RM dump. Apart from being funny... Dboy and Razr killed 3 Osiris + 2Gunboats...more times :) It was in 4.83 yes.. but the RH bomber got more agility and the Supernova damage/s is better than double Novas I think.

More caps simply cannot support each other against bombers.... they run into each others line of fire.. crash.. and all that... or if they choose to sit like weapons platforms... nice then you can actually move the mouse on one side to turn in circles and every time the cap crosses your view you hit the Supernova button :)

Number of BS/Cruisers that can support each other effectively would be max 2.
In BS/GB combination the BS simply cannot support the GBs unless they sit still... which is not a clever thing to do against bombers.
Only combination where this doesn't work are multiple gunboats... there the limit maybe as high as 4.

But you are right that bombers work in groups - so at least two of them or bomber + fighter. Taking a single gb/cruiser in a lone bomber is quite difficult.
