You could always make BB's take forever to load up a cruise engine. Think about it. It might be space, but you'll probably need more power to move something so much damn bigger. Perhaps about 20 to 30 seconds?

While being quite funny, your sig was the biggest one i've ever seen so far. No more than 700x250 please. ~utrack

Yeah but atleast they were worth those 200M as now they are hardly worth their money... ;):Palthough roleplay wise they rock... :cool:cruising around engaging npc's hailing firendlies, having a blast at the enemies that say in their VHF :lol: "it takes a lot more than a BS to kill me corsair...." these kind of moments are priceless, for everything else there is sirus card....

I see your point, but i'm not sure it would be worth the trouble.
It looks to me like more work less results.

Let them..... that is what I am saying. It will not be considered shield running. we can forget about the shield running rule.
Or if you really want to make fighters popular, Give everything GB and above, the same treatment as the battleship. Long cruise time. GB's need to be there to protect Caps, not run around and kill fighters.
That way Bomber will be the biggest ship that can shield run. and transports.....but who is counting them.
Every thing else (smaller than GB) ... has a small enough shield that can be taken down with a few shots.

Now how about instead of playing thruster and/or cruise - deprive the battleships of those and give them a top impulse speed of say... 400 and an acceleration rate that takes a minute or two to reach half the max value.

Seriously. This slow acceleration, beeing consistent, would mean to have the same time to stop, because an immediate reverse thrust would smash the ship. (Not really in game, but try to imagine the power, which will work in contrary directions.)
I can see the lot of planet crashes.
But it would spoil the fun to play with capships. No one will use them anymore and we can remove them completely.

With his and mine factions weapons we can barely bring fighter shields down (but they are so power friendly :sleep: and at least i know my ship will be destroyed with fully charged power plant:crazy:)

Mortars with 900 speed is something that can't be done.
Even if they use energy, it can't be done.
Why?
Because you would be able to instant kill like every fighter that gets 500m close to you.
Now, yes, that is realistic and logical, but it breaks the balance.
And not a bit, it breaks it totally.
Hordes of battleships on sight, again.

Well I believe battle ships should have thrusters and Cruise.
But a very slow recharge of cruise will guarantee thata BS will not be able to leave a fight easily, or shield run.

Then we come to thrusters.....Battleships need to be compensated for losing their ability to run. Either more Hull or better thrusting capability. Also implement long range fighter/Bomber shield buster for BS's that effectively eliminates shield running for all participants. High refire 1400 speed means spray and praytactic from battleships to take the fighters shields down.

For fighters it will be fun to dodge fire on an attack krun and survive the pass.

This probably is the most balanced and fair solution.
