' Wrote:*waves* I'm okay (and so's the family). My office is buggered up again and they finished fixing the ceiling in it only 2 weeks ago.

The internet would have worked almost immediately here but with no power and all of the cell phones only working for emergency calls, it was kind of hard to post on the forums...

It is bad though. Much worse than the last big one. Might leave town tomorrow and go visit family in a town that has water and toilets that work. A hole in the back garden isn't particularly pleasant.

I hear that the family was lucky to be ok, the wife that is.

We over here in WA got the news very shortly after it happened and I started this thread not too long after I had done with breakfast.

I can totally understand going to visit family that has water and toilets.
Electric power and the things it brings (light, air-con and other electric powered things) I can live without, but not having running water and toilets would get my nose bent out of joint.

Been there done that.

Good to hear you are ok, I did see the post you made quoted by Zelot (THANKS ZELOT!) in this thread.

Hope everyone over there is doing as well as can be expected in the circumstances.

It looks like the Emergency Services and just about anyone else who can help are doing their bit to bring it all under control.

Kudos to the peeps helping out when they may have dramas waiting for them at home.

Good to hear you're ok.

although my thoughts go out to those who did have injured or lost loved ones.

Best of luck out there!
