nope... the field is not that dense... no problem to fly through without too many crashes

the idea is meant to make CAP flyin' harder. (could solvethe problem about the enormous amount of CAPs we have a bit)

85m/s limit should be enuf

@At the asteroid crap

How about.. no. For one, caps take long enough to fly through a asteroid field. Keepers will get screwed over trying to exit Iota, and just about every Edge World faction with big ships complain. Plus, it's a useless amount of coding and whatnot to get a VERY mixed result from the players.

Players > inRP as far as I see it.

Ah i noticed this, I shot a heavy mortar at the docking ring at leeds and it just went right through, i was like "eh?"

This idea might make sence if the asteroids were movable and destructable, which they arent, so it doesnt. the asteroids are stuck as indestructable points in space that you will hit on many occasions. hegemons will be doomed, many types of train will be doomed, caps will obviously be doomed. this is a silly idea for large vessels to take damage from something they cant avoid.

Corsairs would not be able to get caps into Eta, and you can forget the Omegas like 11 and 5, that would be a real fun time.
Outcasts would not be able to get caps into Beta or Tau 37, the two main routes out of their space.
Nomads would be unable to leave Iota at all with caps.
Rouge caps in Libery would get pwned in those asteroid fields like in cali and the badlands
[HF] and lane hackers would not be able to move caps out of their Guard System
etc etc etc etc.

all manner of transports would get wasted by collision damage with these objects, Smuggling would be even more dead than it is already

just no.

It's the Ghost Docking ring...

It's there because of undocking Capital ships from planets.

Without Docking ring hitbox they go through perfectly and won't get stuck behind it

yes i know it will be a pain to fly a cap through a field then!

but! hey... should such a ship fly in such a field if the risk of ramming anything is to high? no:P

that would be so awesome + bring more RP (less caps in fields but more snubs... small ships can run in fields to have a + and so on)

/edit: and caps can still fly there but possibly it is a better idea not to fly in cruise and play pingpong:D

Yes! We MUST pay homage to the Millennium Falcon-Imperial Star Destroyer chase into the Asteroid field!!!

Think of how epic that would be to run from LN or BAF or RM or KNF into an asteroid field dodging rocks to stay alive!

Okay, so it may cause some inconveniences for dedicated Capital ship captains all over Sirius, but I think It'd be worth it.

about the asteroid stuff and the "no way out for X and Y"

add tubes for this special cases. not a big deal. ~5min modding per system which could be a problem then.

but... no point to go on with discussion about this i think. seems like the most here dun like:D

Hey Cannon,

The iridium field in Kansas seems to be off. I've tried it several times over the last week {Mafic, IMG IFF, IMG ID, fighter mining turret}. Just wondering if that was intentional or an oversight with the new mining nerfs.

So because you don't fly there often it doesn't matter?

Let me explain it one more time. You know Vespucci ya? We got our Spyglasses there ya, those insanely huge things. And if we go out of Vespucci with them we are IN THE MIDDLE OF A HUGE FREAKING ICE FIELD. And I am confident there are many more places like that. And there are no paths in such systems, and there is no way to avoid hitting the asteroids all the time.

and tubes would basically just mean everyone flies through them thus making your whole idea do nothing

@Asteroid thingie

Please, there are such things as Realism, Balance, Playability. they often contradict each other. But it's how the things work, in computer games.

And, IMHO, Playability and Balance is more important the Realism, especially in multiplayer games. It IS a good thing when you can combine all of them, but currently server needs more players, imo, not more "realism".
Also.... go to SP.
=Get a Jinkusu, fly around Omegas and Omicrons.
=Get a Marduk, fly in Omegas and Omicrons, visit em all.
=Same with Legate, OCie Dread.
=Get a Spyglass, fly around and see at what bases you're supposed to dock at and where you're supposed to operate, since you're unlawfull and have to stay away from TL's and lawful bases.
=Get Rheinland BS and fly in Hudson/Bering, some other areas.

==And then think about how many players will be happy with your proposal.

p.s. =yeah, forgot. Get a Valor and fly with it in Taus or where the action will take place in 4.86
Just my 2 cents.
