I undocked from Dabadoru and was swarmed by Nomads. I target one and noticed if I shoot any of the Iridium rocks it says "Insufficient cargo space". I assume this is because the mod thinks I'm trying to put the ore in the Nomad's cargo?

You cannot target any ship when mining. PC ship you send ore,NPC ship you get full message. So do not target nomads when mining.Simple?

i still dont have an answer on my question

Will the hegemon mining vesel get scrap metal when mining with junker id and iff?

Yes you can mine,no you do not get a bonus with a non junker ship. Same go's for Pirate trans, and train, and any other non junker ship. Want big bonus, and big cargo for scrap? You need a Salvager. Pretty sismple. I tested many many many...did i say many non junker ships. None get a bonus but the true junker craft. And IMO thats how it should be. I blow up Hegimons i see in Junker space mining scrap.(non junker char of course hehe).

Evertime I get a BMM NPCs on scanners, BAF/BPA turns red and fires at me.

[EDIT]

Ok, found.
Please tell me the IMG/BMM repninja is gone.

Sorry but I don't get it.

I think the current mining system sucks.

I am a miner nut basically. I prefer it to trading. This does not make me a freak.

I think the whole rigmarole which has been going on now for weeks has been engineered to parallel trading and mining but it has failed as far as I am concerned.

Mining is now so hit and miss it's a waste of time just checking to see if it's worth shooting rocks in various systems before going out and trading instead.

Having read the info about increased copper ore price to encourage blockade running I thought I'd give it a go but then I couldn't find any copper ore to smuggle. If this is a good idea then why does the suggestion of increased contraband prices continue to be ignored?

Basically I personally liked the old mining system. The only problem I saw was the concentration in too few places. One of the original arguments for this 'new and improved' mining system was to decrease the amount of time spent shooting rocks and increase the amount of time spent hauling. Has this happened? I don't think so.

I am quite prepared to accept the nerf on point of sale prices but the rest as far as I'm concerned is just Cannon showing how complicated the mining engine can be made. I for one don't think it needs to be that complicated.

I'm getting a little tired of hearing oo's and aah's everytime Cannon comes up with yet another obscure tweak to the already crippled mining mod. I accept that he is probably very dedicated to this server and is giving a great deal of his personal time to improve it as he sees fit. Unfortunately as far as I'm conerned the mining mod has been screwed.

So there we are. Fire away. Nothing which follows this post will surprise me in the least.

' Wrote:Mined some copper in O-7, and the yields were much under-level. Mined in the Southern Copper Field, for 10 minutes. Got just 431 ores. DSE ID/IFF, Hegemon.
There are 3 copper fields in O7: The field with the explosive gas (large circle south of Freistadt), the small field near Briesen, and the middle of the three smaller mining zones north of Freistadt. If you were in the field with the explosive gas, that one is low yield.

@Silmarillion: Until you can come up with a solution for the concentration, and subsequent poor behaviour that caused the admins to waste a lot of time on sanctions, your post contains no constructive value. The "rigmarole" is engineered towards making mining ABOVE trading profits, but FOR GROUP EFFORT ONLY. So if you feel to want to take out a hegemon and earn yourself another capship in a few days, then yea, you're out of luck and you will stay out of luck.

If you like to mine, you can still make a good buck doing so. If you need tips on where to go, ask for them. I'll give you one for free: Get out of Dublin. That's where all the newbies mine. Those fields are often just plain depleted. Working as designed.

As for it being complicated. Let me sum it up for you:
- Factions get bonuses based on where they are in respect to what resources are present.
- Small mining ships make more ore then large ones.
- Ore is teleported to your cargo hold, or that of a selected player ship.
- Fields grow weaker when mined but selfreplenish.
- You need to shoot rocks to get ore.

If in doubt - just refer to the last bullet there.

Firstly I do not require instruction on how to suck eggs.

I did point out in my reply that the problem originally was a matter of concwntration of miners in too few places. I still think that that is the case. What is the problem with Dresden?

I stand by the case that mining is now too complex to bother with, which is probably the ultimate agenda..

"Fields grow weaker when mined but selfreplenish" is about as logical as a tungsten punchbag.

I fail to see the sense in any of the modifications other than price nerfing and field extension.

Does Helium still deplete in the Penn field? When I was there yesterday, I got absolutely nothing in 6 minutes of shooting rocks.

You have it all wrong. The ultimate agenda is to make it so that every single player on the server is a member of an official faction, and so there are no unofficials or indies.:P

No, that's Panzer's mission Kai, not the admins. Anyway.

Helium field does deplete. If it depletes too fast the field's max capacity can be bumped - since it's meant to be mined in high quantity this makes sense.

Can't you just increase the replenish rate? That would not need a cap bump.
