When it comes to internet gaming expect heartless, compassionless ******** who want nothing more then to kill your char or blow up your ship (sometimes both).

It happened here a year ago when I left, it was the entry standard level you had to be at in EVE.

Don't get me wrong, there is a few people out there who do just want to interact and have fun with you.

But the vast majority only want to interact with you by destroying you.

For example, I've always known that being a phantom makes you a target. People like to brag about their kills and whats better to brag about then that you got a phantom? (for lawfuls anyway)

I expect to be outnumbered, but if people out there seriously believe and expect a phantom to fight a BS in a gunboat solo then your delusional and need to see a shrink.

Bring two BS's and then you've convinced me that you just want to brag that you killed me.

NB: If at this point your still thinking that I'll fight you and your friend then I strongly recommend that you take a shotgun and blow your head off (theres enough moronic idiots in the genepool thank you very much).

A pair of fighters, not a problem I'll fight you. A pair of bombers, the same. A lone gunboat, sounds good to me.

2 fighters/bombers and a gunboat, no thanks. I'll consider it a partial victory that you had to muster that many people to fight me and go away.

A cruiser or destroyer, forget it. Anything more or bigger, the same. I have better things to do then get killed by you.

NB2: Also, if your chasing me as a 'lawful' don't ever ask me for money in anyway, shape or form. it's completely OoRP for any lawful char to even consider letting a phantom go, no matter how much you need to money.

I logged on my KNF:

- I ordered one guy with a Civilian ID and lvl 67 VHF to drop Nomads he was carrying. He said no and started to run so I followed him and killed him. 5mins later he was back and started to shoot on me without warning.

If his name starts with A i met him too in Colorado....after first time we killed him he returned twice more...insane...

Met a guy callsign PadonaG. No response, could've been a bot for all he showed. At least four rule violations.

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

[Sorry for the post being way too long. Read it if you feel like it, I dont deserve it anyway.]

This topic ruined my mood today and made me very sad.

For some damn idiots who dont even have an idea what RP is, the community loses its best contributors, people get sick, RP gets forgotten and killed by the rules. Yes, unfortunately, sometimes the rules stand in the way of a good and decent RP. Sometimes, the endless line of sanctions hits a "normal" player, which usually ends in sparkling between people being sanctioned, people reporting sanctions and admins. Then we all boil in hatred and are being consumed by our anger.

Someone who spoils our fun has no problem leaving the server, decent roleplayers do. They put theirselves into the mod. Seeing Treewyrm being more and more sarcastic, Hood more and more aggresive on sanctions, people less and less tolerant, burning opponents in threads full of flames, makes me give a question to myself: What the....?

Community is the last thing left to keep FL online. THe technology has been outmatched. Graphics is old. Game is limited. Source is unreleased. The game is not bugfree. What the....?


If someone doesnt have the time to read the rules, noone on the server should have time to play with that player. Go play SP. You have fun spoiling our fun. WE ARE SICK OF IT!

7 admins against hundreds of players. They will never have enough time to ensure they sanction the "right" people for the "right" rule violations. Admins are people too. 7 vs thousands... Now THATS powerplaying.

Yeah... Capship spammage... I have been on the server from the end of August. After a month I got my capship. Most players do. For me it was ("only") an Albatross BC, because piloting a BB was a bit "too much" for me... I was unsure if I can RP a BB correctly. I had the Albatross... Fought some battles with it... I can only thank to BSG, cause if I wouldnt join them, the Alby I was going to buy would be an independant capship. Like this, I was responsible for my acts as a BSG officer and I HAD to think about what to do and what not. Who to attack and who not. I remember assembling a force of my Alby + 2 vipers to help =LSF= against Bs(I didnt know they are the Order which we are friendly to). We just stood there and watched Bs killing SA and LSF... Luckily, I wasnt asked for help officially by a LSF/SA officer, we came on our own. I quickly made out some RP about Possible Corsair attacks on IMG Omega/Bretonia bases if we will attack The Order... Worked. And I learned something: Nothing is as easy as you would think. Especially if you want to PvP in your capship...

Anyway, times changed and BSG too. As CR we dont use Albys, although ID says we can. My biggest ship was Moravia, my proud gunstar.
Now, after 6 months on Disco, being active on forums and ingame I was promoted to rank where I happen to be the second in command on one of our two battlestars. I dont care about my PvP skills. I care about how will I RP with that ship. A battlestar has its crew, its flaws, its technical parameters (I dont mean stats here) and its history. As a battleship, one of two =CR= has, I should know about every NPC and PC faction we meet and how to react.

Opposite to me:
GOGOGO, dont read rules, trade, trade, buy better ship, forget to transfer ID, trade, trade, buy a battleship. Hey, order guns have good damage, buy them, hey now you have a battleship, quickly find some idiot you can kill with it. Ahh you have a liberty battleship with order guns and civilian ID you see a bounty hunter gunboat. You kill it. You see an Outcast Falcata. You kill it. You see a lvl 5 starflyer. You kill it. You see =CR= guy. You kill him. You see =LSF= guy. You kill him. You see an admin. Good bye. You get angry. You whine. You hack the server. You go to hell asking yourself a question: What the....? Players you killed are pissed off, you are pissed off, admins are pissed off.... What a fun game!! (And yeah, I didnt know there are some damn forums with some damn rules...)

Now, when I hope I didnt forget anything I wanted to say, you can try the same by asking yourself:

We want to change the world. Lets start by ourselves. Lets forget our sins from the past. According to =CR=s roleplay, the cylons are going to strike again, erasing all humanity. You like the RP or not, it actually IS happening. All the PvP whores are spoiling our fun, triing to annoy us to hell and make us leave Discovery. Players. Admins. We all are people. Only people. Dont forget that. Learn from your mistakes like I learn from mine. Respect and tolerance. Respect those who deserve it. Many do. Its game about people, not stats, not graphics, not murders, not PvP. Who thinks otherwise, does not belong to the community in my eyes.

What fun I had today, three traders caught, one paid, the other two opened fire before I finshed typing "halt", and they call me a terrorist! Of the other two one punched my ticket, fair play, I was sitting there typing you vaped me. Nice RP. The other didn't respond to hails, started firing at my wingman, engaged cruise, and was promptly disrupted, then and only then did we open up with our guns, we got him down to 30% hull and he F1s *poof* then he reappears 3K behind us engages cruise and is at the JG before we can intercept.

Hell we didin't get that from the IMG cruiser we politely requested a donation from, who could happily have vapourised us without blinking. I'm never anything except courteous and polite, I am after all your friendly neighbourhood terrorist. And this is what I get. Thanks to the two of you who were willing to RP, Mssrs Incompetence and Ian, the other two will remain unnamed but you know who you are, and I will have you, yes I will.

*Goes to hunt down FRAPS* shouldn't have to but I'll not stand for this anymore.

Edit: I have had a positive experience and this has made it all worthwhile, my Wingman today was a new Xeno, who could easily have turned out like some of the others wandering around docking with manhattan, and flying Vipers, but no. He asked what ship he should buy, we said Eagle and explained why, lo and behold he buys an Eagle, he says he's in alaska hunting nomads for the energy cannons, I say "that's not really our thing, they are not really within our RP", he says "okay what should I get", I suggest the very same loadout that was suggested to me when I bought my Eagle. He buys it. We're flying about trying to find traders to tax and he's asking me questions about the Xenos RP, about how we do things and why, learning and getting used to the character, he's registered with the forums, he's read Xorias newbie post, he's read the rules!. Mr. Barbarian I salute you.

Right... so after I did some trading earlier I today (I owe Lotek 400 mil) I logged on my RM:

Undocked from NB

- there was a Lane Hacker gunship/merc ID full with nomad turrets sitting outside, I started circling him and explained about the merc ban and that he should leave, I also pointed to the Nomad turrets (in RP).
He started shooting on me ("so that I stop flying in circles") So he got killed

- this made a RH police IDed Viper start shoot on me... even after I kept evading him, flying around and asking (in RP what was up)... so he got killed also

- now both of them undocked from New Berlin and attacked again... so they got killed again

- then the Viper undocked for 3rd time said "THE VIPER SUCKS" and flew away

- at that moment a Lane Hacker tagged, Merc IDed, Raven Claw came by.....


all this took some 20 minutes

another great evening indeed. I'm starting to consider only to come to planned events close to non-invited parties.

you re not too lucky, i guess. except for an overlarge dragons fleet in sigma... i haven t seen anything out of the ordinary today. ( including an overlarge corsair fleet ) - what do they do there? - its not like sigma-13 is such a valuable system - some junk, some gases..... and thats it.

Right... well, my view is that capships of the cruiser level should be sold only in guard systems with a full guard rep, and that battleships should be handed only to mature people that have good RP skills and an RP story for the battleship. That's beside the point of this topic.

I try my best to brighten the RM's day on my char [BLS]-Zapp. I fly in, and start a verbal joust (all in good fun) start slapping Hans' back as if we're the best friends in the world, and start calling the various gunboats that think they can make me stand and fight them alone idiots. I then PvP some 3-to-1 or even up to 5-to-1 (not counting capital ships!) odds against the RM. This usually ends with my graceful withdrawal, wherein I inform the RM that they are a bunch of incompetent fools that only survive by sheer numbers. Most of the time, this is how it goes with some variation.

Now, besides me being an Outcast in New Berlin (which I have a perfectly good reason to be there, trying to lure Lang out so I can finally kill him) I'd say that I RP pretty good with the RM, and they give that back. Please don't stop playing your RM, mjolnir. It'd make me sad.
