Leave the opinions behind people, and play the game. So long as each is within the rules, who really gives two hoots? there's a respawn button given to both sides for a reason.
Thats EXACTLY why I used the word opinion friend.
We're all entitled to our own, and experience might lean one's viewpoint to one side or another.
And your right....let's play the game and have fun. It's what I'm here for. :)
If a trader gives the good old "kill me now" me and my boys normally try to spend the next 10-30 minutes blowing off his thrustor then ramming/spinning/CDing him till he finally makes it to a base or suicides.
He wants to 'die' so he can quickly get back to trading? We'll waist as much of his time as possible, so that next time maybe he'll think about paying instead.
Nice. Today's q_q topic. I like. Yes novatorp the "kill me why don't you" trader. That's how I learned that dying can be a costly affair that should be avoided most times.
I love type 3 turrets -so nice models to snac razor gun kill it.:)
However simple death penalty will solve this problem 10% of your ship vendor price when you die, and you will see actually prates running from lawfuls and traders using escorts. I am speaking about the death penalty for around 3 years now- meanwhile 100-200 topics like this one appeared. Dev/Admin team just does not like the idea so the situation wont change.

Just go for the rich trader with a Cheetah thruster. He will regret making that 24 million credit investment instantly. I do see the merit in death penalties, but on the other hand it will be hard on new low-level players, plus put a limit on simulation fights/training, which I for one really do need. But if a trader has been particularly annoying in his "haha just kill me", just wait at the same trade lane - that type is like a robot/NPC, and will keep coming back.
I do see some creative trends within the trading community. Last night in NY there was one guy who kept procrastinating, so I shot him a little to speed up the process, and he started crying "Admin, admin, admin!" and kept going like that, but eventually he paid. I PM'ed him quoting the lines from the pirate ID, and he pm'ed back saying that he knew perfectly well, but crying "Admin" detered a lot of noob pirates, so he has been able to pass freely by using that tactic for quite a while now. He was in a supertransport, so it must have worked out pretty well for him.
