By showing it to everyone he took the advantage off of "some" and gave it to everyone.
Funny thing also is, that just after he got banned and deleted it was fixed very fast.

There are a hojillian such cheats in Discovery and Freelancer. It's an old game, with some poor architecture. It would take a team of programmers a lot of time to find and squish them all, and it'd probably end up being cheaper to build a new game engine.

Furthermore, fixing this cheat caused some other part of something to break iirc.
