Teleportation will work we just have to find a Canadian with a really bad fake Scottish accent and a paunch to do the math. Then i will test it by teleporting into the nearest ice cream parlour after closing time. Thus proving a. It works and B. You can eat a metric ton of ice cream before icy death.

On a serious note if teleportation ever did become a possibility can you seriously expect the inventor to survive the contracts taken out on him / her by the petro chemical cartels. World goverments might have a thing or two to say as well.

You forgot something posted a few pages ago...teleportation WORKS! Its real folks but...and there is a but...we are unable to teleport something bigger than an neutro/atom/electron because we simply do not have the computing tehnology available...well put it like this...if a sperm has 27mb of dna data stored inside of it and you "deliver" rougthly couple of millions of them...that mean you transfered couple of terabits in under a few seconds...if we whant teleporting to be practical we will need something faster than that

If it would ever become a possibility, to disintegrate and than re build said form of matter, than we have unlimited posibilities too. We could jsut build whatever we want, like we upload 100kg platinum cube infirmation on to re- building device and re build it (multiply it). same with any other form of matter. Thing is, energy needed to create (write) something bigger than an apple is way bigger than total energy consumed by humanity since we started to consume energy, as i see it. It's Sci-fi , really.


EDIT: Also, what kind of building or writing device are we talking about? What kind of a machine can instantly produce atoms and moleculs from which human body is created? A " 3D PRINTER " is not an answer because than, on another hand, what kind of 3D printer (not holographic projector) can build atoms? Creating atoms from nothing? transfering energy to matter? I dont see that ever happening.

Well the machine exists ... dont know its exact name but i think its a photon/proton teleporter...it only requires to teleport just 1 particle witch is farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr more smaller than a molecule and a bit smaller than a atom


Edit:And what you say its called alchemy witch it was a mith but the modern age turned that to truth...it is posible to transform 1 kg of led to 1 kg of gold...you just need to rearenge the electrons of the atoms that the led has but you wont get exact 1 kg of gold because rearanging 1 kg of lead requires to destroy some atoms or simply turn them to h2 because you need to remove some of theyr elecron fields and thus resulting...lets say 100g of gold? And the other thing of this desintegration-reintegration is that is very power hungry ... that transforming 1 kg to 100g of gold is simply not profitable and you will probably end up paying 100 fold the price of the gold you obtain. the same thing its with industrial diamonds...you put charcool into a high presure/heat chamber and it turns into diamonds
