Apparently there is a NeedforSpeed Online that is F2P... Not looked into it though.

Also, there is a MechWarrior Online coming out at some point. But until it does, you can always catch the F2P version of MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries at MekTek.net

Spiral Knights is a top-down MMO that is deceptively addictive. Only downfall is the energy system that limits play time. I've been told that it is possible to break the dependency on the "free" energy once you get down to tier 3 where the loot is better, but the time it would take to even get down there would be a test of patience. Still, if you try it and like it, you should check out the Silent Killers guild lead by Silentgary. He's a good guy who knows his way around.

Tribes Ascend is a great FPS twitch-shooter. Quite fun. You might see me on there occasionally under the name "Beroya".

I used to play Black Prophecy. Fun space shooter if you didn't mind the long prologue. Story got kinda bland after I became a Genide. I joined a clan and had some fun, but the pay2win system was just too broken. Still, if you join a good clan, you can get access to decent gear for a price. I myself was a member of the Genide exclusive clan WAR Division 3.

There is a F2P Lord of the Rings Online. It's a WOW clone set in the LOTR universe.

There's also a game called APB that is like GTA in a loose sense. I hated it, but meh.

2d adventure/platformer, cool pixel'd graphics with a somewhat decent story line. Good to keep you busy for a while.
