I cannot be the only one who takes note of the fact that .:j:.Congress is the 3rd most active faction on the server, and we always log on just to "be a faction".
We don't log on to get into fights (our tech is just an invitation to die anyway) - we avoid them fastidiously, (ask a Reaver) so It's not to pew-pew, its to behave like Junkers and smuggle - alot.

I would call that RP.

I have to agree. I always see atleast 2 Congress on most days just trading(smuggling). Something the more violent factions should take a hint from. RP more, PvP less.

No no no no no no no. Not at all. We allow interaction between characters. People blatantly take action on ooRP feelings of a player. I can go on and on, but I'm at work. No, 99% of the population here would be banned in hardcore RP. This is below light RP.

Yes it is still as it seems. Major Kudos to the new players for that.
Place is indeed funny- strange trend that I see is people that are better in PvP to complain for ganks (link) bot sharing (link) and other RP elements that prevent them to harvest easy blue Msgs, however the same people claim that shooting everything that flys within the rules is in RP and they are right, as much as the others are right that ganking and cap feeding snubs with bots is in RP. Other special feature is when the Devs nerf something they clam that they fixed it or buffed it like the corsair guns (link) . Interesting fact is that the most members of anti-gank movement are labelled with the term "PvP-whore" and also gank in the same fashion at the moment when they see that you might dodge your way out of the desired easy Bluemsg.
I haven't yet saw single new unskilled player to complain about ganking or bot sharing ever.
This Community is full of such funny statements and actions that contradict with each other. Since most of the old members accept and play by this unwritten strange weird rules of conduct my hope that the new members would do better.

In short- this place is like all other places- there are decent people everywhere together with not so decent people- it your your personal choice to decide if you should give a sh about the not so decent ones while having fun with the decent ones.

It's my RP to kill a slaver. Why should I give you my life's story of why I want you, your kind, and your suppliers? No, I'll give you a few lines that amount to "You wronged me, die and burn in hell", and get to blowing you ship up and ending the pain you inflict on others. That is RP. Good RP? Good RP and Bad RP depend on views, despite the obvious exceptions.

RP works hand in hand with PVP, as it is some groups' roles to shoot you. RM? They are there to shoot you. Why should they give you an entire rendition of The Divine Comedy, Disco Edition, just to be able to wage a war on you?

RP is hard, but not impossible, to find. You just need to stop complaining, stop insulting, and actually get out there and RP. If you find that impossible, then write a story on the forums - plenty of people do so, and have fun with it.
