Capturing works in non-HQ mode, it means you may capture only non-HQ object.
It is more intresting than capturing whole system at once and availability always to have starting point for faction representatives.

NY HQ List:
  • Baltimore Shipyard - Deep Space Engineering HQ
  • Battleship Missouri - Liberty Navy HQ
  • Buffalo - Liberty Rogues HQ
  • Detroit Munitions - Ageira HQ
  • Fort Bush - Liberty Police, Inc. HQ
  • Newark Station - Interspace Commerce HQ
  • Trenton Outpost - Universal Shipping HQ

I've did the list of HQ long time ago so at NY seems to be you may capture only Rochester - but try, maybe others works too, if not - tell me.

Think i have missed something with HQs so you may tell me which base must be of aporpriate faction HQ and why.

Any idea why some bases (e.g. Cordes, I am currently stuck with that) seem to be invincible/impossible to conquer?

If there's a lot of shield fuel and repair commodities on the base it can take 10 or 20 or 30 battleships pounding on a base to do any reasonable damage. The shield keeps out most of it. 5 battleships or so don't have a chance of doing more damage than is repaired. So if there is a lot of repair commodities and shield fuel, it's going to take a whole lot to take a base down. And bases do 3 checks every tick per upgrade level. So a level 4 base will repair 12 times each tick. You might want to bring an armada or threeSmile

Wait what? player base repair is locked - so the are like regular bases

Been able to take over Fort Albi, Montpellier (similar bases), stationary GRN Battleships so far (Grenouille, La Riche, the one at the Dauphine gate in Languedoc), Quillan and a good amount of weapon platforms. Failed to take over Cordes and Nimes, despite destroying station parts. None of those are HQ stations.

Quick edit: Nimes became a Navy base, any clue why? Big Grin

Must be bug or feature - still. Take down the station turrets by regular torpedo... And while i will look i will look hmhmhmhmhm.

Did that too lol. Been a while ago so I'll check it tomorrow again.
