What I mean is that a faction seeks officiality either to fill an empty spot in a NPC faction which is not officially represented or to offer something different than the current official faction(s) of that NPC faction. However, at the moment, your RP is somewhat identical to what [LN] already offers, if not much more limited in terms of variation.

Better recruitment might be a good idea also. Not [LN]-tier but your easiness is questionable.
You might want to specify your diplo a bit more rather than more or less going off the back of [LN]'s diplo.
Your goals are also phrased a bit oddly.
You lack a code of conduct but I guess that might not be necessary.
You also need a ZoI.
Basically this from Lyth. To my knowledge, most official factions have at least some vigorous questions in their recruitment, and actually deny some applicants. As for the diplomacy, goals, and ranks - they're really short and some seem poorly worded. Listing a ZoI and Code of Conduct isn't strictly necessary, but they're important to have as well.
You've overlooked these and that's a pretty big deal ... while you're a good group, that in combination with what Pancakes and SpaceTime wrote (plus the fact that you haven't really worked out what to do with that yet) warrants the question as to whether 5th has the qualities necessary and/or expected of an official faction. I really don't mean to sound harsh here, and I've gotten along well with your leader for some time, but 5th has a long way to go. I'll poke back Jack on Skype, though, and we can talk more in-depth about his new idea there.

Basically this, i can't say i'm happy with 5th encounters at all. Sorry but you can't make it to the top over night, you need to make sense for that and *work* for that.

First of all, thanks for the feedback. Second, I apologize for what happened.. I will handle the issue internally with the player involved, and that the issue won't happen again.
I want you guys to get officialdom, I think it's great that you're out and about and that your faction activity rivals that of the [LN], it's awesome, I usually love to fly with you guys, but today I'm kind of displeased.
Fighting a losing fight isn't fun I know that, I've lost plenty of fights myself. Losing multiple faction ships to an enemy who you outnumber can be frustrating, it can be infuriating even, and it can definitely be embarrassing, but it happens sometimes, and it's something that you're going to have to realize.
Knowing when to retreat is an important thing, and that brings me to my complaint. Today, when I was logged on my [LN] gunboat and providing a watch over an ongoing fight that your guys (and some [LN] guys too) were involved in and losing, I suggested a retreat and I was promptly freaked out on by one of your members who promptly tried to botfeed from my gunboat, despite you know...the recent changes regarding bots and stuff, in order to avoid losing.
If you're not going to retreat from a lost fight, at least lose with dignity. This is a game, it is okay to lose.
