basicly.....join a powerfull club or be everybodies cumdumpster....
As I said before..... PvP junkees will only fake RP to be able to shoot you...
And as long as this server cant decide between Pew-Pew and Story-telling....problems will occur...
Im not here for PvP but I have to roll with those "people" as long as Im around...sad but true...
Wish there were two servers....one for each mindset.....BECAUSE....it doenst mix together well...

You just adapt to the market conditions, like a load of Aluminum ore will be worth very little in New Berlin, a moderate amount in Omega-7, and a ton in Bretonia.
Pirates aren't going to and aren't expected to calculate exact fractions of a trader's potential profit, just what the cargo is vaguely worth.
Well, if I catch a player hauling 5,000 Aluminum Ore in New Berlin, near the Stuttgart Jump Gate (certainly going for Bretonia), I'll have to ask a bit less than a quarter of 50 million, since that's the profit he makes. But if he hauls it to a PoB in New Berlin that sells for only 2,000 (assuming inRP I have no knowledge before making the demand), that would mean I would have to ask for around, 2 million. To justify the latter I would need to be informed of such before I made the initial demand.
Seriously from some of the comments made in this thread people have never heard of a PvPRP server, it's not just PvP or RP it's both. If you don't want to get pirated go play singleplayer instead of just whining all day long that you lost 20 mill of your 500 mill made that day.
Its not about the money.... and you dont really have BOTH when RP is just viewed by some people as a pesky hinderance to go full-PvP...
If you want to shoot or rob me at least try to RP for real...
Have a "character", know you´re role and formost have a motive deeper than being a dick...
You can get more and better RP out of the pirate NPC´s drinking in a freeports bar than from some "Pirate-players" in space.
I think some guys do not even care for the difference between the role and the player.
Noticing a lot of meta-fails...
The GOOD RP seems to happen in the forum mostly...thats kinda sad...
At least be honest enough to admit giving a wet smurf about real RP-worthy dialogue when you
obviously just go hunting for mindless action and/or maximum profit...
Here are my two cents on a probably an irrelevant(?) note, or to reassure some traders, I do piracy sometimes but I always keep in mind that the trader is a person, and that I want them to have fun during the interaction, even if it ends up costing me more than what I receive. A lot of the time, I don't ask for money, but give money instead, for the time spent talking. It's however a bit sad to see the traders run while my objective was basically what I said earlier.

That is the right POV...thumbs up!
All you "lazy" pirates achieve in the longrun is getting less people to go trader to prey on...
...therefor less and less piracy events for you!
Its a collective experience to keep alive this fictional world we all joined to have fun with. =)

dont go water-ski.....be a rower....
Appreciate the thumb up! I fully agree, it's a collective experience to keep it all alive, working and well; too bad the people leading the ship doesn't seem as aware as one might think... in minecraft of course. And when I trade, I also stopped checking the player list, and if I get pirated, great! I'll have someone to interact with, although, most of these interactions were just people trying to get some quick buck, which is a bit sad when you realize it.

Would "resonable" values differ for the same commodity? Let's say a transport has 5,000 units of Aluminum Ore, which should have a max profit of 5,000 x 10,488 = 52,440,000 credits. Normally, as per my definition, reasonable would be, let's say, 10 million credits. But then, what if the trader instead goes for a route that buys the ore for 2,000 credits only? In this case, would 10 million for a trader hauling 5,000 units of Aluminum Ore be unreasonable?
You should know, as someone who trades in Ores, that the '5,000 x 10,488 = 52,440,000' profit isn't necessarily true.
If said transport has bought his ore from a POB, it could have already cost him somewhere in the region of 15-17.5 million.
Therefore profit would be approximately 35-37 million.

Don't try and pirate in front of lawful stations/battleships, don't shadow log and then have the same lines to pirate and then log out right away, do develop an interesting interaction based on the faction you are flying as. Actually listen when other players are giving you feedback other than ignoring them and then complaining because you're feelings got hurt when somebody didn't gib money. This might shock you, but this is a roleplay server, not a PVP server.
It ain't about what you are capable of, it's about what you're willing to do.
