- uses "friends" in the system to scout ahead and notify him of pirates / lawfuls so he can avoid or just dock
- Now this one is great: in system chat, ooRP insults and threatens pirates / lawfuls when he gets caught or destroyed
Thats a lot of hipocrisy when you actively do EVERYTHING in your power to avoid interaction or when interaction occurs you go ooRP.

Where do you get the information that i am having friends and that they are scounting for me? Most of the time i am flying alone mate, and when you are hauling contraband through house space, you are using a cloak, makes sense, right?
Cuz lawfuls will tell you to drop the cargo, they dont let you go away with xeno relics for example(yes you can ask for licenses, im aware of it)
And btw, I am the one who is saying get rid of the systems tab onto the playerlist to get rid of avoiding pirates.

Alright, sure. Let's say we change the player list to region or omit player locations all together. Now, you almost never see any one. Pirating is now even more difficult to accomplish because you don't know where others are. Sure, this makes it so that silent powertraders can't skirt a pirate waiting ahead of them, but it makes finding the traders annoying for the pirate.

Oh, and let's say that you actually do find a trader as a pirate. The same exact thing happens as it does now. They noRP engage, run away, and then hurl OORP insults at you as they fly away or after they die. So what did you accomplish with this change?

Nothing. You just made it harder for pirates to find traders and increased the likelihood of never finding another player when playing.

I (sort of) get the reasoning behind wanting to do this, but in practice it won't solve anything but make things worse.

Well, yes and no sayne, everyone knows the meta trading route(it's gold and kenmer iirc)
Everyone knows the most active pobs
And .ost of the people knew where are the bigger factions are operating.
I only ask for the region change, I tell you something:
Some admin/devs want to get rid completely of the playerlist.
That makes it even more worse.

They also dont want to rp, they want that you lose your time/effort/credits and cargo.
He could also rp something instead of dropping or dying.
Navy/pirates needs to give the traders opportunities to get away with their cargo.
My personal opinion about it as a barge trader(i am only using it for everything, my first barge has over 460 hrs online time):
I wouldn't complain about if a pirate caught me,
But he needs to be reasonable and not going crazy cuz it's a barge or pay or die method.
And if you are unable to find a barge, than idk mate, dont pirate, it's the biggest and slowest ship on the server xD
Remember that it needs to be funny for both sides.
That also includes switching ships if people seeing one specific trader(a lot of guys are getting "hunted" if they log in.
And guess what?
They stopped playing the game......

But again, I agree that insulting is a no go.

Hi, leader of K'Hara| here. I just went around asking the alien players I know, and going through DSAce logs.

Almost all alien players demand "RP or die". Just stop and chat and interact, which is something most traders absolutely refuse to do. Here's an example of how YOUR powertrading could be going.

No, your regular nomad player doesn't instakill transports with no demands because funny haha. Generally, we kill transports that refuse to roleplay and silently cruise, or that silently engage us.

However, more than a year ago, I'd like to say it was around March of 2024, I did have an enlightening conversation with an indie nomad cruiser. I'm greatly paraphrasing here because it would take more hours digging through DSAce than I already put in and I only vaguely remember it, but the short version is that he was a silent powertrader who got killed for silently running, and took it upon himself to instakill traders without demands so as to "force admins to fix the shitty alien IDs so they can't troll honest workers anymore".

And Nomads aren't even pirates, which is what this thread is supposed to be about. Honestly, we can just kill you straight up, no fluff and no extra stuff. We actively choose not to, and instead just demand some roleplay interactions. The problem with piracy these days really isn't that pirates are evil which makes powertraders forced to avoid and be shitty to them all the time. The problem with piracy is that powertraders don't roleplay and have no character standards, and demonize pirates (and nomads, and police) because anything that costs them money, or even time, is subhuman in their eyes.

My attitude is very okey , Godslayer picked out good encounters, ( I did read twice even his post) if i would start posting here how i lost just 60 mil worth cargo in one month to K'Hara and indie squids in Sigmas and Omicrons , just 1/ and 2/ , ( as persons said later " I can do it, my ID allows) and that was only me, but there a lot people who had same problem , then Alex needs another hard drive to keep Forums up. And your standards are in wrong place, it is RP server and we don't need here ID lines like squids have. And open your mind to squids? Isn't we have enough Wildes already in server who can shot everyone and in every corner in Sirius?
These your so called " Powertraders" they have very right facts . I bet we don't need to worry really in future about your " Powertraders", because more and more people just will avoid Omicrons and with such ID line as squids have , their Zoi should be limited to Omicrons only.

So next time when you smart one will answer, then look into mirror, think again what game are you playing and in what server , we don't need PvP whores here, that's the reason why that server is dying. charging traders 10k per system visited as a cargo insurance, a discord bot will track players flying using player list to know where it started and when it ended the insurance purchased (already scripted, bot is in dse server and others that also supply with pob notifications of item stocks and other stuff )
If anyone is interested to give it a try and help me out(with credits ) let me know
this will make traders not having to risk everything during a pirate interaction,therefore not avoiding it

I can't say how many players care about this in-game money, but I personally don't care about these pixels, what matters to me is the encounter I have with either the Pirate or any opponent. As mentioned above, there are always these "Powertraders" in the game, so there are also the same amount of these lolwut Pirates who think they're going to get rich with it or just get a "blue" message because they had a shit day inRL.
