"Once wealthy Corsairs on Crete learned of the availability of young, healthy organs, demand for the procedures quickly developed as a way to rejuvinate the sick and elderly."
: D well perhaps not outcast one, but the lifespan increased. Citation from disco wiki. Now corsair do not need to sit in wheel chairs.

Aha.
That would increase lifespan by a small margin, as organs aren't the only thing that keeps the body running.
But increase indeed.
The Corsair lifespan, I imagine, couldn't be too long with the conditions on the planet. Somewhat more akin to the lifespan of past centuries than the current one, I should think.
Nobody ever comes close to living as long as the Outcasts do.
EDIT:
I've just realised that there could be problems taking organs from the bodies of those who are cardamine addicted.

If you read Etna's station information, it explains that actually the Cardamine infected organs are still usable for human transplant. Which lead the corsair scientists to believe the cardamine addiction is primarily based in the brain and not the essential organs and tissue.

Ah, but corsairs landed about 20 A.S 800 years are quite a lot for evoliution. Besides Im sure they learned to adapt.
Like even now, people who tend to live in more mountain terrains have bigger lungs to compensate lack of oxygen in hights.
The thing is that cardi atticted organs are even better ones. Citation:
"Desperate to save their dying pilots, Corsair doctors turned to the extreme measure of harvesting viable organs from the captured Outcasts on the hospital ship. The doctors speculated that the cardamine infused tissues of the Outcasts would be rejected by the Corsairs' bodies but the only alternative was to watch their comrades die. Strangely, the organs adapted much better than expected, leading to speculation that cardamine dependency was centered in the brain tissues instead of the rest of the body."
Cardamine rewrites DNA in the body.
I'm fairly sure that means all DNA, which means that organs couldn't function without the Cardamine, and that you'd have to become Cardamine addicted to survive with said organs.
But, then again, I'm not an expert in this field, and I suppose we're rabbit trailing off into irrelevant matters.

Indeed, I was personally thinking the same, giving then the reason why we sold our organs mostly in Bretonia (via Trafalgar black market)

800 years is no time at all for evolution... People who have adapted as mentioned in the above example have probably had ancestors hanging around in the mountains for longer than 800 years. Evolution in humans is a very slow process.
Besides, evolution generally wouldn't be worth squat to humans on Crete. Unless you can work out an adaptation that makes people resistant to ridiculously hot days, ash storms, sulpuric vents, magma streams, starvation and earthquakes that's not a particually good citation for an argument.
I'd imagine the mean lifespan on Crete was perhaps 40-50 before, now maybe it's 50-65. Another thing to bear in mind is that Crete is majoritly in poverty. The organs would be brought by the rich people. So, no net change for the population as a whole, really. As for the comment about the Corsairs having a larger population than the houses... Errg. I've got lots of arguments to shoot that little jewl down, but I won't derail this further by posting them.
1 Corsairs are the biggest.
2 Outcasts take second place
3 Hessians are the third .. and later others.
If you come up with some infocard or something that proves that i'm not right. Alright. Perhaps i'm not.
Evoliution. Heh. Why it is a slow procces, becouse nowday man can survive much longer. Natural selection effect is weakened. But anyhow .Even now, after 400 years regular women will weight 2 kg more and will be + 1 cm tall than thesedays women. And this is happening in the times where natural selection is weak.
As for people, who were pushed into very uncomfortable habitat the natural selection had very important role, therefore the evolution speed was increased numerous times.
800 years, are about 12 ~ 14 generations. That is quite a lot actually. Perhaps it won't have, sagificant change, but it will have effect.
