I used to, but paying upwards 5 million credits just for the RP cargo, and an extra 1.4mil to rearm wasn't worth it to me.

For the escort in Universal, at least a civilian pilot and maybe a food ration or two.
For the order recon cruiser, I'd love a cruiser commander & H-fuel all times, but in the omicrons... doing such is unwise.
For the Council gunboat, I found a Council pilot floating, but that's hard to come by. Also h-fuel since it's a capship.

A mechanism where your pilot/escape pod would automatically respawn in your holds depending on your role/rank, etc would be cool... but there's so many problems I can't see it happening.

I try to when I am near the bases where I can get what I need.

Couple examples would be my Kusari Explorer that carries crew, scientists, food, water, oxygen, H-fuel and Consumer Goods. This is not because I feel thes should be in a cargo hold but to represent the change in the hold the necessity to supply all on board as well as it's escorts for the log exploration trip. Another example would be my [NLH]-Lurue. He has 7 BAF, some Oxygen for them and water, a single Nuke Device, 5 units of Synthetic Marijuana (don't want to meet him with none otherwise demand is automatically leave the system he's in) and a credit card (he always has one to signify that he's rich and has his own substantial funds). Can turn into too much writing with what I'll carry depending on a situation.

Sometimes, depends on the char I'm on.

When I got pirated for my crew on my trader I stopped carrying rp cargo on it. And corporate escorts can't have civilian pilots without getting asked to drop them by the npcs.

My outcasts however are a different matter, the bs has the crew and stuff loaded and my fighters/bombers have some cardi as well as an outcast pilot whenever I get the chance of obtaining one. Recently I took a "History of Sirius" with me as some kind of book/newspaper to have something to read while on a long range patrol.

Rest depends on the situation, some consumer goods simulating the cosmetics for the female chars every now and then. Sometime fuel if I'm up to play getting low on it, whatever comes to my mind

Edit: oh, and of course food whenever I pass corsair territory so I have something to bribe them with:D

Well, maybe you are right and Im too judgemental or whatever, but it still a fact that:

20 pieces of equipment wont cut their profit and the most common goods can be found on any station. Not half of sirius for travel but usually under 1 minute -beside you respawn on a station anyways.

,consumer goods,1oxygen,1water,1fuel,1pilot, 1 food ration of syn paste, and some crew members, are quite easily acceable after someone shooted you. And it is sitll under the 20 pieces of cargo. Yeah in a starflea it is not needed, but hell in a luxury liner? yeah we dont talk about rare goods as luxury goods or vine. Those things are rare and expensive so ofc they are gone if they shoot you. But If you think with your character that wont prevent him/her to keep some stuff on board.

Ive seen luxury liners with ONLY cardamin in them. what would you say of those? They were -re customized for takin cardi instead of card-tables and swimming pools?So they were traders with a giant cargo hold, and 1 lone pilot who hade everything in his pockets? Ahh yes offcourse it is not the question of the ship, but question of RP. And yeah they cannot move unnoticed close to station, but he still used lanes. Quite good Rp I think.

If ppl simply doesnt take care of their rp goods complaining about how long it would take to them to get new (lemme guess: oxygen,) than they will never go for real rp goods like special items.

It deosnt mean that they cant Rp if they have no Rp cargo, but it definately means that they dont even give a sight on any of the Rp lookalikes, but they tries to maximalise the profit while pretending that they rp.

OFc i have characters with zero rp loot or close to zero, but if I want to make sure that my pilot has supplies for longer roads than from 1 station to the closest- than I always equipe some water, food oxy and the all mentioned goods.

Trust me if you ride a ship wilth 50-100 pieces of Rp good, the pirates and ANYONE will realize that you are rping aswell not only another lolwut filled with slaves or so, just to make enough money to buy another Lol-capship. And that will mean real rp for you instad of :stop, dropcargo, movealong,pay2mills routine.

Ahh well, you will tell that Im flaming, but its not true. people jsut doenst care about virtual realitys laws. For your character its not only a cold empty space, for them its not possible to live without stuff like oxygen water and so.

Carring Rp cargo is a mark that you tries to realize the game experience. Without Rp cargo, you are just a rulelawyer -a kind what cares about the written rules only, and not about the concept of RP. there cant be a rule like oyu must carry items, but if you look after it in most real RP fraction there are rules to carry some of the Rp items. It is not an unimportant thing. It is a mark to see who is thinking with his characters.


I think flying without some ..rp-cargo,, is similar to lolwutting. Sorry for it, but if check any game, talk to any Roleplayer, without loot you are nobody- without oxygen you are dead. without water you are dead. So what are we complaining here about my judgemental stuff?
It is matter of the player: if they want to Rp, they jsut put some stuff in and keep playing. If they want fast traderuns and so, they jsut dont give a sgiht and click as fast as it is possible. It is clear and there are no problem with this behaviour.

But hell, I never take someone seroiusly who sits in a cpaital ship or giant liner or stuff, without a single crew member, and without a single barrel of water. that is simply out of my world. Ahh ofc they can be all androids as I count them...

Paul Larson (junker ex hacker) is having robotic components and cardamine (few units of each) all the time from Manhattan.
Both of my LN ships (Mc.Donalds) may have food and water when I think about taking it.
All corsair pirate transports I use have always few artifacts I leave to the traders I pirate (when I have it)

Except that, or my old characters, I don't care at all about it.

Oxygen wouldn't be in your cargo hold, it would be in the environmental controls. Spaceship crew wouldn't be in your cargo-hold, they would be on the bridge. Food wouldn't be in the cargo hold, it would be in the kitchen stores. H-Fuel would be in your fuel tanks, not in your cargo hold. Are you starting to get my drift? The cargo hold is for your cargo.

See, your idea of RP is over simplified to "you must have a, b, and c in your hold or you're a lolwutter." Sorry, but you're an idiot if you think having certain amounts of certain cargo makes you a better roleplayer. It's your roleplay, and not the fact you bought a couple of things on station before launching.

I don't carry any RP cargo for my own "use" anymore, although my Junker does sometimes bring water, oxygen, and food rations to other Junker bases. It's not necessary to RP, it provides me with an easy way to detect and avoid elitist pricks, and it avoids the issues like the one Bazza outlined.

My Junker Firefly, Collimare, has crew. A rather small one, but it's a basic cargo ship. There's four people, each with their own name, background, skills, and personality. Equanimitee may have already noticed two of them, Alex and Lydia, when I was ten seconds away from salvaging his Zoner Whale. :laugh:

(not robbing, salvaging. It made sense if you were there.)

And not one of them is in the cargo hold.

But hey, people like you who assume their way to RP is the only right one? I don't take you seriously either. If your way was the "right" way, it'd be required by the rules, wouldn't it?

just cause some people made the way of rp really easy around, to make sure most of the players can follw the basic rules, it deosnt mean, that the way of playing cannot be improved, if somone wishez to think with the head of his character.

If those scanners are so complex, that they can see a single piece of cardamin in the cargo hold (unless we dont count that is 1000kg of cardamin or so)...but they cannot see a dozen of personnal firearmas in the rooms of the crew?

Well than all smugglers would cloak their cargo hold with the same shell what they are usin on the ,,board,, of the ship.

We all know that there is no difference between the cargo hold and the board of the ship in the means of cargo/ship scanning. A single piece of nomad brain is not 1000kilograms or so. so it is in small glass bottles aboard, or in the room of the commander....lemme guess. like 1000pieces of nomad brains could be stored in shells on board without notice?

I think I will be afraid of all of those ,,empty traders,, I never understood but it seems they smuggle with their crews rooms and the capitain cell. Brilliant idea. Thanks for it.



Otherwise as I said, I can understand if someone just doesnt want to buy rp crap in that moment of his life. I just suggest, if you want to put some spotlight on you, forget the super-maskerd board, filled with 200kilogram of any kind'o stuff for each lemme guess.... 1 square meters.
because: you can save time if you make them seen-able.

Just a wery last question:you say 1 spaceship crew mean: 1000pieces of human in your cargo hold and only 1 will survive, or a small cell for 1 man in the ship no matter of that it is on the bottom of the ship or the top of it?

1 unit of any cargo can vary in terms of weight and size, best if you just use common sense.

For example:

1 unit of cardamine is likely to be 1 kilogram (close to cocaine being measured in kilograms in real life)

1 unit of spaceship crew would me 1 single human in small ships and several in larger ships.

You'd have to make it fit to your RP and ship type, just make estimates. And yes you can explain the lack of cargo by "cloaking" if you wish to have a shady RP such as smugglers.
