If the 2 fighters concentrate on 1 bomber, there is no way that the bomber can survive for long. If the fighters are good, and you said that they would be.
Yesterday I held an [RM] training event
I was in a fafnir (blooming huge slow beast).
The opposing team was two wraiths and one battleship.
This exercise was suppose to be a lesson in escorting and quickly taking down bombers before they can hurt a battleship.
Ended up going on for 20 mins before they got me.
I am a -very- mediocre bomber pilot.
I had three ships shooting at me at all times.
I managed to bring the battleship's shield half way down once or twice.. and I was only one bomber.
Heh, well then I honestly don't know. I have seen these fights a few times. The fighters always brought the bombers down before the bombers got the BS.
But then again, perhaps the wraith pilots were worse in fighters then you in a bomber Lobster? Honestly, I dunno. I just can't imagine 2 wraiths that can't take down a fafnir. But maybe thats just me.
I just want to give some other options
Ammo based EMP missiles- gunboat statswise but with much better speed and turning rate- they must hit. but no hull dmg 13k shield dmg, 2k effective range.- 50k credits at unit. The Capital ships pilots will not be able to argue about not having the option to fight bombers- it will make the bombers hull clean for Battleship guns. Experienced battleship pilots will be able to missile/razor bomber and instant kill him. When the missiles are ammo based they and expensive to buy they will not be spammed- 40 shots for example is not that much.
With this missiles the bombers will loose energy and will not be able to use the snac so often. With EMP missiles escorts will eat the bomber hulls not the bombers shield.You will say that the bombers will shield run well they shield run now so the difference will not be so huge.
Nerf the SNAC hitpoints- add nice light fighter only missile( Light fighter torpedo slot) with less damage lets say 1000 dmg but equal to cd as speed and turning- limit the ammo to 5 shots- sub-target,shoot make the snac to go kaboom with 3 shots. Bomber without SNAC is useless....It cannot be abused in fighter to fighter to fighter fights.
Lobster Fanfir is way too big- I have shoot it in P-transp several times.If two fighters cannot kill freighter sized bomber when he shoot battleship then this people are very bad fighter pilots. And I dare you to test again without the 2 fighters behind you - single bomber even the most heavy one cannot took down battleship shield.The battleship regen will prevent you do to any hull dmg.

Bombers can hit a target at a max range of around 4k under optional circumstances and can still ping a BS with a SNAC at 3k or just under.
Simply put, the bomber can hit the heavy BS, and usual7 even the lighter BSs, and be at virtual no risk themselves, as they never enter anything except mortar or BS missile range (and the BS misses are evadable in a cruiser, much less a bomber).
Even with two average fighters on their tail. bombers can still dodge until their powercore is up and then pause that one second it takes to shoot. repeat until dead (20 mins)

If one increase a battleship's hull.. It actually wont do that much for solo survivability. Instead, It gives time for escorts to get to the location and for escorts to take down bombers..
It also makes cap fights last longer and more interesting, involving more tactics then just pew pew Boom.
What I would propose though, is that battleships, cruisers, and possibly GBs get the same amount of Bot to armor ratio as fighters and bombers...
Think about it.. When in a liberty cruiser, It's all you can do to bot once.. then that is it.. while ALL the fighters and bombers around you can bot about 5-6 times.
Even it out so that caps and smalls have the same (relatively same) number of bots to comparative armor.
