All lawful companies use house frieghters, transports, adv. transports, trains, adv. trains and armoured transports.

All of them escorted by startrackers or hawks.

No HFs, no VHFs and definately no bombers.

So I don't see why a lawful company needs to use military ships, I can understand a civilian company using two civilian bombers as escorts for the CEOs personal armoured transport, but not for a shipment of food or commodities.

I'd much rather see lawful trading companies using LFs, even mk2 ones, then VHFs and bombers. Because the escorts aren't there to kill pirates, the escorts are there to discourage the pirates or hold the pirates off long enough for the police to arrive.

I agree. In general LFs should be used as escorts... To be honest if someone did use a gunboat escort, it would be very boring... and they could earn more just running two traders and paying the odd tax every now and then.

They wouldn't be able to stop your competitors due to the fact that they can't attack traders, and they are horrible escorts, being too bulky to follow even the biggest traders around.

no argument here... we are talking about fighters, bombers and gunboats...

To tell you the truth... GBs are hopeless ecorts... I have pirated many trades with their GB escort just hopelessly shooting and never hitting anything....

Good... that is the way it should be.

Puck does make a strong point about Samura, I have to agree. And... light fighters are terrible escorts, because in escorting dodging makes no difference, as escorts arent being shot at. The transport gets shot at. Escorts need to take the pirates off transport, therefore they need firepower (gunboats and larger ships cant hit though).

You are so wrong here....

LFs are best escorts.. they can keep shooting the pirate all the time (if he's in VHF or Bomber)... because they are so agile that they can stay right on him no matter what he does... see the point?

If I meet a GB escort.. I simply ignore him... fire all my guns at the same time in short bursts.. while I dodge the fire from the GB... (best to have the transport between me and the GB all the time... and that is quite easy)...

I successfully pirated traders with Gunboat cover alone in a Sabre.... then I saw a pilot who's at same level as me beiing driven off by a single LF.

There was talk about how to spend the money once you've got enough. Do what the people do in real world. Buy power. And it's natural for corporations to ever expand. This leads to a some RP possibilities.

Finance Revolutionaries to further your goals. Or finance smugglers and reap some profits.

Or better still I'm sure Samura (and other corporations) look towards borderworlds and their resources with greedy eyes. So finance a harrasment campaign. This could lead to a nice RP plot line when the harassed party tracks the money trail if you have used multiple middle men like you should. On the same vein have that obnoxious KNF general murdered through multiple middle men. Those ops ain't cheap.

Have a personal revenge to that junior police captain that obviously was too fresh out of school and out of the loop with your "understanding" with the police to have stopped you last week. Pay his superior to have him demoted.

The possibilites are limitless as long as you got the dough.

Flying under radar.
