Back on topic, I don't think this is such a big issue. To be honest during a fight (specially the big ones), you are so tense that you get ticked off by the slightest of things. I've felt this myself and it's quite irrational.

If the battle Dieter mentioned is the one I'm thinking, I was there with him and we were the last two against two lighter/smaller ships. The whole battle stretched out for more than an hour (almost an hour and a half).

By hour one, I was so grumpy, I remember getting ticked off because the guy we were shooting was gaining nanos instead of losing (probably his friend was trading them to him). At that point I was "yelling" that the guy was farming his own NPCs (also, I don't even know if there were NPCs green to me around). Fortunately Dieter calmed me and asked the reasonable question, "Did you see him doing it?" I didn't and it probably didn't happen at all. Point being, when we loose the edge during a fight it's easy to look for something (or someone) to blame for it. Sometimes it's just bad luck or poor assessment of the situation.

Also, about trading stuff during the fight. Even though it's a bit frustrating to shoot three ships through one, that's precisely what you're doing, you're destroying everyone in the group, bit by bit, through one guy. If the other guys are trading stuff to the one you're shooting, when you finally finish him, the others won't have it for themselves.

I also agree when Mjolnir says that when people are busy shooting NPCs they aren't shooting you.

Most important of all, I definitely agree with Caylith that they (the admins) don't need the aggravation.

Gronath, as I said.. I have nothing against fighters giving bots/bats to each other..

But I do have against BS's and Cruisers, which I can't beat in my fighter, and they can supply like 500 bots/bats at least.
Now, a 4vs4 fight with skilled pilots lasts for hours (in non-vanilla ships at least), so, imagine if that one guy we'r trying to kill for over 30 minutes gets bots/bats from a BS.
And we can't do anything about it, because BS has too strong shields.

I had a situation in which there were 2 fighters vs 3 fighters and a BS..
And a BS was supplying them with bots..
Which means, when BS appears, you can as well leave.
You can't kill anyone.
And that's a bit dumb, at least to me.

Frankly, I find it a disadvantage to open the trade request window when I am in the middle of combat. I don't know about you guys, but I can't really see through that window that pops up.

Thats right man not every fight is fair. If your in a 2v3 fight fight and their battle ship shows up RUUUUUN! I would. If the fighter CD you into entrapment then you got had, period. Such is the wane and waxing of war.

I wish in real life there where rules agains useing tanks(BS) against infantry(Fighters), which can carry extra supplies and pwn troops, yet not carry as much supplies as a 5 ton supply truck (transport or repair ship) Clearly if they have time to trade then your not being aggressive enough. If they jettison them then you can beam them too, just be quick, or as I do I hit the tractor every 3 seconds so.

I know this happens because I have personally had a box of MREs and a couple drums of 5.56 linked ammunition thrown to me from a M1A1 main battle Tank (not in a fire fight), plus the water and ammo the rest of my fire team recieved for us all.

Besides the battle ship is a self suffcient cammand center or moble base. If I can buy Bots/Bats from a stationary one then a friendly should be able to beam me more in battle.

Heres a thought what if BS didn't have Bots and Bats but regenerated over time like 1500 hull per second simulating damage control teams. Bots/Bats carried just as cargo. Still have to dock to fix hard points.

Bots and Bats leave them alone. Practice target selection, battlefield selection, and cook their butts if they turn their attention away from you. Not every fight is winnable. Trust me as one who get killed alot as soon as my shield go down those NPCs are costing me money, even if you and them dont kill me. They use missles and those can hurt, no to mention blast parts off. I know this because it seems I always have hoardes of NPCs after me in battle, so I try to string potential enemies away from their friendly NPCs anyway, then kill those present if the other player slack off at all. Cap ship I just thrust away and SNAMC them as soon as they come in range and make and attack run, dropping mines and fly on by and repeat until desired result are met. Or more likely I die. By with one wing man we've downed a gunboat and a cruiser.

Bots and Bats are in RP.

Killing NPC hostile is in RP.

Beaming loot is in RP.

Some loot being the unused Bots/Bats is in RP.

Allies shareing supplies is in RP.

Bringing overwhelming force to a point for area domination is in RP.

This is a RP server.

Whats the problem?

I am just staunchly defending the ideals of RP, I have no personal problem with anyone, just some of their ideas that threaten RP. Nerfing is the DEVIL!

But heres a nerf idea that no one will like because it will step on alot of toes.

Be cause a transport has less chance to escape a bomber than a BS. The bomber can thrust faster, it can hit harder than a BS, it can carry CDs and a Super Nova Anti Matter Cannon(SNAMC) more powerful than any BS weapon, and it can chase a transport into a asteriod field unlike a BS, and it harder to hit unlike a BS.

Or better yet let Battle ships play too then we would have purpose for Bomber escorts like the Civie bomber or basically the Xeno bomber.

Or I'd settle for leave it all alone. I'd rather we take a few more layers of the kiddie gloves off.

Problem is.. This is not the real world.. Anyone can buy a cap ship with 3-4 days of trading..
Point is.. I don't want to fly a cap ship and pwn poor fighters..

Problem is.. Transport can strip bomber's shield and can kill it.
Fighter can't do that to a bs.. Hell, 4 fighters can't do that.

I didn't vote against this.
But you ScornStar should sit in a fighter a bit, and see it from our point of view.

Well any transport with 6 turrets.. takes down bomber shield in 2-3 hits... and then it hurts on hull...+ you need Supernova + a lot of gunfire to down 100k shield... and SN takes ages to recharge.

on the other hand... transport (not counting Container one) can never take down GB shields and the GB fires continuous stream on it.....

so that's the "unfair" pirating.

Voted no. Don't like the idea of a rule that tells me who I have to fight. If I'm fighting NPC military or Wild and a player shows up, why should I drop what I was already doing? What if I'm on a mission and a player shows up? "You can't kill those mission targets! They might drop bots for you!"

I do fly a fighter and a frieghter. Harvester 01 and Harvester 10. I get killed alot and I straight up attacked Yoda. I care not for fairness just RP. My attack was in RP. I have a Battle ship too which I only played for about 4 hours and have had no PVP in, just two long RP chats. The chats were great but no excitement from the BS point of view. It cant go anywhere and I find whineing a buzz kill. Fighter can thrust away from a BS and if BS criuses its fleeing a Transport can thrust or criuse from a Bomber. Every pirate that was successful against my trader Harvester_03 has been a bomber or Gun boat. Now if the Out cast brought their BS to kill me in my trader they would probally have the RP for it and I wouldn't report them or, the Zoners for that matter or the Hackers. Harvester enemies.

IF ITS IN RP I WILL NOT REPORT YOU. Criuse is the only one I will get jumpy on only because it has been an issue and I have trained myself never to criuse unless I'm done. For example my Harvester_05 was killed by a Xeno, a Bounty hunter, and a Liberty Navy [SA] fella all teamed up. I had no problem with that it was in RP. But normally they should have been shooting each other over helping each other shoot a mineing ship, but the RP was there.

I know if a transport hits a bomber it hurts but thats a big IF sometimes. Anyway my goal is not restrict the bomber but, to free the BS and Criuser. Just as the transports cannons at LVL4 can hurt the transport can thrust from a BS and run to asteriod field the criuser well its better suited to eat transports but then you have the Civie bomber give it a job outside the Xenos.

No you can't dock (server rule and no dock rape make that impossible) in battle but you can buy how ever many you need as often as you want with in the protection of the ship.

So while in battle they have only so many on stand by for transport or use (trade screens)

I still see the RP

That right when a BS shows up RUN! If you dont your either crazy, heroic, dumb, or OORP.

It supports game play for everyone by haveing tactical moves such as that and it becomes a chase and you are chased.

If a battle ship catches up to your battler your lack of instrement reading or, intel. Deal with it.

If I attack the New York in my fighter and a BS is in system I would exspect it to assist if not doing more important things or keeping gaurd at a other wise unguarded hot spot. I dont exspect to win.

This is not a server for the overwhelmingly competitive but, for partakers of stories.

If you attack my Battleship with a fighter I will kill without remorse and, it will be your fault for dying.

However if you run into an asteriod field then I'm not going to go get hemmed up in there and be a target.

Anyway we seem to agree on the leave the Bots and Bats alone.

So, maybe we can make a new thread for this debate I'll be back later I have errands to run. Or PM me, I would not mind matching wits as long as we keep the personal attacks out like we have so far, thanks.
