It is quite nice of you to care about new players and how confusing the game might look like for them, but you can't just simplify everything down for them so that they'll understand the whole game in seconds. Learning how things go is also part of the new folks' gameplay, more often than not simplifying is not the way to solve confusion, teaching is. They need to learn to care for their own safeties out in space, and part of it is that making sure the guy looking like a random guy will indeed not want to extort them. And for that all it takes for them is to scan for an ID. Besides, if you simply instead of teaching, they won't get the overall atmosphere of the game, and will continue to find further, similar things confusing or annoying. They need to learn Pirate ID can wear Freelancer IFF just like how a murder can wear the same clothes like your Average Joe, in our case the system is even more user-friendly as on the streets you cannot really scan if the guy is really a murderer or not.
