Rather delete armors and multiply respective hulls by 2.5 (snubs) and 4.0 (caps) or lower denomination for small ships if you want to keep PvP time shorter. Caps die fast already.

By introducing new mechanics like this and turret steer, you make the mod seem fresher and more than just a ship pack. I would love it if you could make this work.

Everything that makes snub pvp feel more like tense, dangerous combat and shortens the duration is very welcome. The method to achieve it looks great. Hope it can be done.

Well, I think this would just spell an end to using armor on fighters. Not getting hit is always better than tanking.

Yes, that old wisdom is true- maybe armors need to give a much more serious advantage to balance it out?

An alternative would be to redue ships cargoholds and increase the cargo armor needs- so small "fast" ships or HFs and LFs simply won t be able to put that AU8 on anymore or whatnot....it is hard to give a fair disadvantage to just being very fast.

then again if you do this then the bombers will be even more easy to kill with a battleship or any other bigger ship.

And... does that mean Leeds will be taken over by Gauls? I assume that LD-14, Glasgow and Stokes will fall to GRN's hands, and sometime a KuEx-BAF-Colonial-Council alliance is formed?

bombers are incredibly unbalanced as it is already (it can hold its own against all classes of ships, unlike any other class of ship). There's so many topics about fighters not being able to finish off bombers before they can sink caps in a balanced fleet. Nova bombers are the noob/no skill ships of Disco par excellence.

Besides most skilled bomber pilots don't come in close for an assault when their shields are down, and if it is possible to make this idea work, those pilots might even get added agility in exchange for less armor - that trade-off would be a great benefit to some pilots, but a huge drawback for others, who can then opt to mount heavier armor instead (I had envisioned UAU4 as a benchmark - that the agility our ships have in 4.86 will be kept exactly the same with a UAU4 mounted, and if you go for less armor you get more agility than is the case today, and if you go with more armor than a UAU4 you get less agility than today - I don't know how the dev team wants to do things though).

I think it is a great solution, because it solves the problem of extremely long snub fights and unkillable bombers (by fighters, that is) in a balanced fleet fight. The only thing I am worried about is mines and missile damage - spammers might get an edge in 1 vs 1 snub fights if the opponent has less hull to chew through, but it might not prove a problem. I guess testing will show if it is possible to make this change at all. I think you should go for it, Aet, and I commend your ingenuity.

Most of the lanes are getting cut at some point, Planet Leeds is occupied by the Gauls, the gate to New London is possibly being deactivated, the stations are either being destroyed or captured.

As for the alliance, you should really bring the Magnificent down to Leeds some time and see it's already the case. You also get Liberty and Outcasts helping sometimes.
