Very well. If you are looking to avoid fights, perhaps you can help us with some intelligence work instead. Information regarding the movements of our neighbours will be priceless. As well as the movement and intentions of the Order's minions, such as the Xeno Alliance, or the Fifth Navy Fleet, or Crayter - to name a few. We also need intel on Nomad incursions and attacks, if you happen to find good information, we can pay, primarily information pertaining to those "beam" brood of "Nomads" you may hear about in Liberty.
Now, I must urge a point, you - yourself - do not need to do the work directly. Go befriend Freelancers, they can be good at misdirection and gathering the words that spread around in Liberty - be warned that this also works against you too.
As for upkeep... Unless you have forgotten our terms; you are independent, now that you are no longer a part of the Insurgency, you are free to use our drydocks for maintenance. If our bays are full or you cannot book in, the Junkers port is an alternative. That is, if you don't mind them eyeing up your ship to sell information about.
Regarding Inverness. It has been undergoing certain fortifications by us within the recent years. With the Liberty Navy on the doorstep, our stance has shifted to an orange alert. Crayter will occasionally lose a few vessels that try to explore too far, and Bretonia has attempted to send agents into the sector. Naturally, we managed to quell them.
We're doing what we can to keep our civilian populace safe. Though we are not many to begin with, we can only hope that time will be our ally.

Perhaps we did forget about our ability to use Valravn as a port. The Captain has been trying to do things on his own and he can be a bit stubborn at times when asking for assistance. We will see what kind of information we can dig up and will relay it here as fast as we can.
Honestly I dont trust the Junkers at Invergordon to much, as you said they like to eye up our ship and one to many times I caught them in decks that have nothing to do with what they need to fix or maintain. I will get with your dockmaster and see if we can get on the books for our next refit.
Your other remarks are quite concerning to say the least. What will you do should Liberty decide Insurgency isnt enough and decides to push into Inverness? Concerning Bretonia if memory serves me right there used to be a SIS outpost in the system but I cant recall what happened to it. I didnt realize Crayter was also in the mix. It seems much like the Insurgency, Auxo is surrounded.
Ah, one more thing, the Captain is trying to expand our "friend list" so to speak and is speaking to the Golden Chrysanthemums about possibly working together. Rest assured any information we can get from them we will also relay to you. Though so far he has not made much headway yet.

What happens if Liberty, Bretonia and Crayter invades? Well, this is certainly not unforeseen. Years ago, we ran simulations on their betrayal ever since we witnessed erratic, xenophobic, behaviour in their Command structure against our people. Ever since then, even when we were allies to Bretonia, we have been preparing.
Should the day come when they arrive, we will happily pay you for assistance. And you won't be the only one to seek retribution against these "allied nations"
Yes, indeed, that SIS Outpost was neutralized by our forces. Their pride was hurt from it, but they failed to heed our desire to be left alone.
I cannot personally recommend the ... acquired taste of choosing to reside with the Chrysanthemums, bare in mind their servitude to the Outcasts. Although, they are rumored to have run into conflict with the Overwatch, that may bare you some worth.
We cannot stop you, your decisions are your own to make, but we must urge you caution with these types of opportunistic organisations. Do not succumb to betrayal.
