In general, the NPCs are fine, but I picked "yes" because I thought the missions are a little too hard.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

Well i can't speak for any others. But on my xeno char i relish the challenge of the NPC filled new york. Its fun trying to spread your propaganda while fleeing the Liberty NPC Cap force. Which is forcing me to bring a few of my xeno buddies along for the fight. Which i regard as a good thing.

Actually when i was making my comment i was reffering to the new alpha and thier cloud in tau 37. I have noticed that it has become a bit harder to engage smuggling vessels or hostiles (namely Outcast) in these areas. Which i also regard as a good thing.

No no no no no no no!
Just leave it as it is!
there have been no complaints about the missions. and nobody loves them. So it's evenly balanced. Just leave the NPCs like they were

*In my experience*
The titans are something out of whack. That's my real problem, is the titans. So very often, I encounter titans spamming TCD, which is fine, that makes sense. But, then, I fly for 30k in what re supposed to be warzones, n get only titans? (This happens in Eta and Omega 47, on the Outcast/Hessian sides of the system). But this strts, in eta, just as soon as I come through the hole from alpha, and they chase me by Siracusa, all the way to Palmero. The bases don't take them out, not a single OC npc spawns to help me...These guys re on the wrong side of the system, and they seem to own it.
Omega 47? I jump in from 49, I'm nearly one hundred k from the Corsair base, trying to get to the hessian base not twenty k off.. why are there no Hessians supporting me in this fight?

Not so much that they're too strong. Its just that, they're supposed to be fighting a stalemate war, yet, when I choose a side, my side doesn't have npc support.

I like that they're strong, I'd just like to see them pulled off of the player by their opponents. So, strong NPCs, sure. Strong NPCs fighting the player? Not for long. Spawns should be such that these strong NPCs re fighting one another, not chasing me for upwards of 30k on impulse.

And when you fly on a corsair and jump to Theta or Eta you "always" get BHG or Outcast NPCs...

ohh wait, maybe it's because you don't notice your own ones when they are there?

Well I actually read through the whole topic so far and here's what I think:

Some of the NPC's are a little un-balanced, I think this should be handled on a case to case basis. Whenever you are talking about them being over-powered you are talking about them being over-powered in certain areas, maybe those areas just need a little alteration. Now personally I have not hung around a lot of these areas so I cant comment on them specifically. In general though since the Release of .85, no NPC has interfered with my RP.

In terms of NPC's on missions, well I really think that is a different topic so I'm gonna move on.

In terms of NPC's in Gallia, yes, they are strong, perhaps too strong, but it is in RP for them to be this way. My biggest issue is with some of the navy patrols by Macon. I once got jumped by a bomber patrol in this area and then another one spawned right on top of me after I had killed maybe one of them. At the time I was flying a Council GB with an anti-fighter/bomber loadout and a cap6 armor. I almost didnt survive. This does seem a little extreme to me. Other than that though I cant really comment as I have not flown anything smaller than a GB in Gallia.

I think one of the better points brought up in this thread was Benjamin's. What if someone from a hostile faction has a special RP reason to visit their enemy's space? Now I think this really needs to be possible, but I dont think we need to reduce NPC strength to do it. To do this I propose the /neutral command. This command would be just like the previously discussed /attack command except it would make all hostile allied (to the user) NPC's in the system neutral, until the hostile player docked or left the system of course. I think this would be pretty un-abusable, and though it may allow some OORP situations for OORP players I think that it would mostly help, in fact I think I'm gonna go start another thread about it.

I voted 'no' BTW.

Outcasts have been complaining about that since .84. At least Palmero used to take out the dozens of Titans that would attack it. Now it doesn't. It's annoying to go from Alpha to Eta and get jumped by 9+ Titans. And yes, I have looked to see if there are any OC NPCs. If any show up it's about 3, and they get shredded before taking down the first one's shield.

Pff and here I am, -wanting- more BH dessy missions:PGrab a few friends, bring some nova, and rape the dessies, they drop 5x100k credit cards, so 30 dessies would be 15 million credits in loot.
