Not that I like coming to their rescue all the time, but I flew by them today as they were extorting protection money from a DSE vessel; it was done in a classy manner, although I did feel sorry for the poor trader. Funny thing is, he was going through a Jump Hole, which seems strange for a DSE vessel to do...

And to address those who think that lone transports have no chance of surviving against gunboats, or even bombers-

You sure do have a chance if you know what you're doing.

We should just wait until it becomes so that there are so many pirates that there all traders decide to become pirates, and the pirates decide there are no traders, so go trade.

Then an equelibrium will be reached.

TOP QUESTION: "What makes you belive that trading should be always profitable?"

And now someone askin even more resttrictions to pirates, then we already got bunch of them. Seems more likea whining to me. IF you dont really care about credits to much, so why you care giving away 3 000 000 ? or 3 000 units of cargo?

No lets see from the RP side. Why not a vhf in a pirating. Imagine if you are hungry corsair. You have bomber to fly and vhf to try out. THe diffrence will be that trader can flee from vhf, well of course not from me:Pbut have more chances to do it then from a bomber. And hungry Corsair surely wants his loot and money. So he'll take chances with ship which has more firepower.

And about gunboats, fro my opinion .. I dont understand why gunboats can pirate at all. But this only personal views.

Because at the moment, it is the most profitable way to make money in discovery... in my opinion.

And once again repeating myself: Getting pirated is fun.

Ahh.. but I doesnt means that you always must get the profit from a run. Pirates wants to get the profit as well. I dont know how about you guys, but parking the tl for one hour.. to meet 3 traders and take about 1 000 000 in exchange, isnt very wonderful either.

Oh and about the freighters, I use pirate transport. *cought*

Well, I have yet to be pirated so many times that I don't make a profit.

Only if I die.

Lets see, you're mad because I'm whining about restricting Pirates more, yet you don't think they should use gunboats...

Who exactly are you agreeing with?

That is what I am talking about. Hit cruise while the lawfull is roleplaing.
And bitch at them if they launch a Cruise disruptor for "not showing enough roleplay before the engagement"

No really, regardless what you play, the roleplay is the best compensation for any losses.
At least for me.

I can agree with this, but in a slightly different point of view

At this point, I'd gladly pay a pirate that RPed, even if he only took my shoes, I'd give him some extra, because it's nice to have someone talk to you aside from "shut up and pay." Now if I were to hit 2 or 3 in the same run, maybe not so much payment. This kind of differs from my original post, but I've had a PoV change now, seeing things from both ends.

This relates the RP and the money. People interested in the roleplay are going to be less interested in the credits, which in the end is going to get them more, at least from me. There are select loltraders, to go with the lolpirates, who will F1, silently engage, or just cruise off continuously. They ruin Pirating the same way the lolpirates ruin trading.

Me.

I think that it should just be bombers and fighters for now...
