Can we have some faction related naming conventions. I have never played as any of the three sides and it isnt quite as clear cut as KNF GRN names were. Is it callsigns or names for order and bhg, and how to show the nommies.

I was less concerned with the tag and more with what comes after it. Just wondered if anyone in an important type position had a preference.

I would recommend ORD-, BHG-, and NOM- .... yes, nom nom nom... :P

Official faction members only should use an appropriate suffix. (FL) works nicely for Fleet leader.

EX: ORD-Cpt.Miller|Order BHG-Cpt.Miller|Core NOM-Light.Seeker|Keep - or something along those lines. The only reason for standardizing tags is to make doing an /fi really, really easy - and for sorting out the player list, too.

Put this into your command line.

Right click on your Freelancer icon on your desktop. Under the Shortcut tab, where it says Target, you'll add this to that line. Make sure there's a single space between that and any other add-ons you have.

-sdiscogc.game-host.org:2303



When it's done, your line might look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\Freelancer.exe" -sdiscogc.game-host.org:2303 -w -newplayer -dptplayer -logchat -logtime -logappend

That's my shortcut line, and uses the commands to look for the second server, play in windowed mode, display when new players log in, when players log off, logs the chat into the DSAce file with the chat time, and keeps adding to that file instead of simply starting over the next time I log on.
