Andre, obviously you are going to ignore all of the good reasons you have gotten from a vast array of opposing sides of the question, so the discussion at this point is no longer a discussion, so let me say it this way, as a dev who does lots of dev work in that area of Sirius, I can promise you, with almost 100% certainty that there will not be a Freeport in Sigma 17 or Sigma 19.
' Wrote:The incident I mentioned earlier was a third party, not outcast or corsair. I was told straight up by the OSI in a PM that I could not dock there because it would "disrupt their alliance with the Corsairs". The No-Fire-Zone wasn't part of the consideration, as I had not at that time flown to, docked, or fired with/near the station. Until it opens its doors to all who respect the NFZ, I don't see how it is a freeport.
Well OSI were wrong then, whoever said that.
If nothing else, because we dont have an alliance with the 'sairs.

As soon as a good reason is given, I'll address it. All I've gotten is a load of nonsense. Please let me know if I missed something in the following list.
There cannot be a Freeport in the Sigmas because:
"The Zoner/Corsair "Freeport" in Theta is too close."
So what? It's not as if Tau-29 and Baffin are lightyears away. I already posted a map showing the locations of Freeports. There are even two within the same system in one place.
"It's in the middle of everything."
Nothing happens in the Sigmas. Besides, there are even Freeports within House space.
"You can dock with the wreck."
Uhh... no. You can't.
"Kusari wants to get bigger, so we can force our lulz onto independent systems."
Kusari is too big and empty as it is. It needs to shape up its RP so it can bring more people in, not expand its zone of emptiness.
"It can't be a Juggernaut because Juggernauts are too secret to be Freeports."
Okay, it doesn't have to be. I just thought Juggernaut was a nice idea.

Any other arguments? I've addressed them all, rebutted them all, multiple times, even though most of it wasn't even worthy of comment. What's next?

' Wrote:Zelot, why must you go out of your way to shoot down all good ideas?
I dont, I try to look at every idea with an open mind, I looked at this idea and came to the conclussion that it was a bad idea, due to the reasons I explained. This doesnt mean I shoot down all good ideas, this one is just not good.

All you explained was that Kusari wants to expand its lulz into the Sigmas. Which has nothing to do with the idea of a Freeport in a Freeportless region of space, or honoring the memory of Freeport 7, which as we know from SP was a big commercial hub in its region of space (think 1 million credit transactions before Discoflation). Unless you explain more specifically what Kusari plans to do in GMG/Outcast territory, I don't see in what way it is relevant to the conversation.
' Wrote:andre ... are you familiar with the name 'Oswiecim' ?
nobody rebuilt it. you know why? it remains as a memorial / museum of sorts. the wreck is similar. think about it in this way.
I'm sorry, no I am not. However, are you familiar with the name 'Pearl Harbor'? Yes, the wreck of the Arizona is still there. However, a memorial was built all the same. You'll have to let me know what an Oswiecim is.
