It still only governs Barter and Speech and is that one statistic that doesn't really do anything for you. A Cha. score of six opens up two perks or so for you which're basically 'meh', so Cha. is turned into a dumpstat. Again. Just like in FO3. I hate useless statistics.

Affects your companions too. Better charisma means better companions, more nerve, better stats and performance.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.

Yeah, I noticed a wild difference in my companion's performance between my "dumpstat" 1 point charisma knife poker character and my 8 charisma "has lasers and smiles a lot" character.

1 point = companions run a lot and generally suck.
8 points = I can barely keep up with them.

Veronica is especially fun to watch run around. She'll charge ahead and I can casually follow in her wake, looting bodies that I find scattered here and there.

With the 1 charisma those worthless balls of meh break easily and generally feel more comfortable with the idea of me going down before them.

On that note, however, my sneaky mcstabalot character doesn't have much use for companions. So I'm generally content to let them sit by the wayside whilst I do my own thing. Which largely consists of stabbing. While sneaking. Stab stab stab.

So....

I'm kinda getting the feeling that New Vegas might be worth getting my hands on, even though I'm not really into FPS type games....

Which leads me to think, is WoW a FPS type game? Just a question that popped into my head there.

Back on topic, is New Vegas more like (sorry to use the comparison) a WoW type game (go kill me x amount of that) or more Halo-ish? (Oh look it's a bad guy. Kill it!)

From what I've read in this thread so far, it seems like a "choose your own adventure" sort of game.

Not having played any of the 'Fallout' series, what am I missing, if anything?

edit: if this post doesn't make any sense, it's because it's so late here that it is starting to get early. 4:40 AM!

It's a light FPS, strong RPG elements.

Nothing like WoW or Halo, and no, WoW isn't an FPS.

Watch some Youtube videos or something to get the best idea for it, but it's a really fun game even for those who haven't played Fallout before, don't like FPSes and don't like RPGs.

I decided to start the game again with a character based more toward talking out problems. And it has worked fantastically, because now I actually have a character who is excellent with speech and barter, but also has a perfect condition laser rifle and assault carbine to blow anything away. With about a thousand normal and armour-piercing rounds for the carbine.

I just completely ignored giving skill points to unarmed, survival and melee and it has worked wonders. 80 speech and 60 guns and energy weapons work wonders.:P

[17:45:39] Wolfs Ghost (Murphy): Tom, you have problems. Go kill yourself.
[19:25:12] Johnny (Jam): Tomtom, I will beat you with a spoon.
[14:22:56] Prarabdh Thakur: KILL HIM WITH A SHEEP.
[17:40:48] Eagle (Junes): Tom should be slapped with a spoon.
[11:32:18] Warspite: Thank you for being so awesome Tom. <3
[18:17:36] Metano: I love you tomtom
[20:06:24] Warspite: I will seriously give you epic head.

Most sellers I know off refresh their caps after you wait for 3 days. You can accomplish this by clicking wait 24 H, three times.

Also, the amount of cap they got seems to be connected to your level, the higher your own level is the more caps the sellers got. Of course, some merchants have naturally a larger stock of caps than others.

Stockpile items somewhere like the Novac hotel room till a few levels and/or days later. I did, and after being kicked out of all the casinos, I ended the game with around 200,000 caps at level 43 (level 100 mod activated).

Also, not visiting a trader for a long time stacks up their caps.

What i really like is the fact that within 3-5 hours, I've got 3000 caps. Should i be saving this for something big?
