Mr. Brown,

It seems that there was a mix-up in accounting. The first gunboat was paid off months ago according to our records, however accounts payable seems to have cut a check for all three. In any case please keep the extra with our compliments as a donation to Liberty's war chest. I do however resent the implication that we would "enjoy" these weapons of war. I look forward to a day soon when we can return or scrap these ships as they represent a considerable investment of personnel and resources, not to mention the inherent dangers of combat, combat pay and life insurance.

In response to increasing need both the Argyle and Stockton will be re-comissioned immediately to escort convoys. It is our highest honor to continue serving the Republic of Liberty and should the government have any need of our shipping in the future please do not hesitate to contact our corporate office. Until then we will be putting the equipment to prudent and efficient use.
