I'd rather see battleships with more realistic physics that don't get knocked around by fighters and pinball through asteroids. As long as they can dock, that's fine. I don't use tradelanes with battleships. There might be a problem getting the Nomad bs out of the Unknown system though...

Rheinland BS - I think it would be dull making one bs much better than the others, as everyone would want it. I say make them more balanced, with their own advantages and disadvantages.

hey guys, i might have a solution for the battleship docking w/trade lane problem. Is there a way to make the trade lanes have no collide?(no collide- where stuff passes through an object)

P.S: hey igiss, thanks for replying to my post, and i will try to track down or record some HOMEWORLD sounds. I have homeworld: cataclysm and might be able to help

In a tradelane (I tested this) you do not hit anything. I made a tradelane go through an asteroid field but did not add a zone to disperse the asteroids awa from the tradelane like normal and I was flying right though the asteroids. The problem isn't getting through trade lanes it is getting in them that is the problem.

Beta status update

As many of you have already heard, Discovery 4.79 beta is near completion now. However, bug hunting that I have to do on my own (to prevent server crashes while public beta test) takes much more time than I expected.

I have to apologize for the delay. Beta will be released during this weekend.

Thanks for patience and support, and get prepared for testing!

i realise it is proably a little late to add my 2 cents but ur getting it any way...

rh bs are fine i like them exactly as they are tho improved turret view is a must.
the rh bommber could use a little less monoverablity but not a lot. maybee back to the same as the orogonal titan but no less then that. coz after all it is running a fighter sheild. if ur going to make it handle like a tank may i recomend upping its sheild rateing to match otherwise ull end up with a sitting duck that can not evade anything

Hi, Just a little thing to point out about handling. It's a bit late i know.

The LI Gunboat handles soooo bad in the beta! NOOO! You just made my fave ship handle as bad (or even worse) than the LI Cruiser! The gunboat is IMO like a very very heavy fighter, which i think should have handling kinda like the RH Bomber.

P.S. could you give gunboats something extra like a torp launcher or sumthin? Gunboats are not going to stand a chance against anything otherwise.

Please don't destroy my fave ship :(

Gunboat is considered a capital ship in many cases... especially since it has no gun mounts (except Gunboat Forward Gun).

So it should, in theory, handle as bad as a Cruiser. Using a Gunboat as a fighter is a REALLY REALLY bad idea and unbalances the mod to a point.

If you want a VHF, get one of the VHF's that are out there. Gunboat can stand it's own, but it's not designed for dogfighting.
