I'm lazy and Adrian has my ass covered, but I will say this:

Whe hell have you been? I can fly a Spyglass and a Battlestar II into a Tradelane no sweat, the Rheinland Battleship is a cinch. Learn to fly a capship, buddy, it might serve you well; maybe you'll figure out what you're talking about.

I'll take your word for it, the RL ships have never appealed to me and the impression I get is that the OC cruiser is the best cruiser, the lunchbox is the best GB, the BH Battlecruiser is the best BC, etc... I could be wrong.

But that doesn't change the facts that no one has shown this actually reduces problem players, at best it moves them around which doesn't improve a thing.

Just like no one has shown there is any substantial issue to begin with.

Ah I've kinda done this arguement before there no point in repeating it. I'm on the side that thinks people should be given a chance at least until they rulebreak but really at the heart of this issue you have to ask why are people in the cap ships.

My opinion is people are in the caps because the npc's are ridiculous simplistic yeah wrong maybe.

I do think the whole factions dictating to indies is a very dangerous thing though if it catches on it can only lead the server downhill as has happened to others that just aren't around now.

This is my last comment on this issue at least until it effects me personally.

I only know what I've been told, I'm obviously not as interested in flying a bunch of battleships around like you do.

Instead of this side issue, why don't you address the real issue, showing that this program actually helps the server.

What evidence do you have that an issue really exists in the first place? Something other than "because I say so".

What evidence do you have that forcing these problem players, if they do exist, out of outcast cap ships and into other cap ships (we'll assume you will eventually move some of them) helps the server?

Would you like it if someone came up to you and said "lol i oucast i kill u" in a capship? I, for one, would not like that. That's why I'm in favour of the 101st's methods here.

O.o

Do you realize that his eyes probably constitute evidence to him, even if you don't trust him? Also, you didn't need to flame for battleship usage, his point was that the RM battleship actually IS probably the best battleship and yet it is vastly outnumbered by Legates, Osiris, etc. because those aren't regulated. Yet. I like blunt's suggestion of having factions at least keep tabs on all capships, even if they don't KoS people for being dumb with them, they might say "Yo! People! Please try and get this person to RP!"

I believe that is how the Bretonians operate. It seems to have worked quite well.

Well, there are a lot of reasons. If you are an indie you are often outgunned, the fact is that even though multiple opponents can take down a cap ship it still gives you a better chance than a smaller ship in most situations.

Also you don't get CD'd by annoying NPC's near as much.

Also you need something to spend your money on once you have a transport. Maxed out fighters and bombers are cheap, then what?

And there is the prestige, it is a statement that you've put the effort in, credit wise anyway.

Now, some people like to cap whore (as poorly defined as that term is), but i think it's easy to call someone a cap whore when they aren't as well, and to pretend there is a problem that doesn't exist. Especially if you are low man in a clan, not allowed a cap ship, and there is this indie with one, or if you are a pirate in a GB, picking on a trader and along comes a BH in a cruiser or bigger.

Basically, cap ships are kinda cool. Servers with them attract more players than servers without them.

Excuse me? Interested in flying a 'bunch of battleships'? These ships happen to be the subject matter, and a greater knowledge of the subject matter gives one a position of superior judgement. I think I deserve credit in that I have taken the time to experience the controls of almost every Class Ten Capital Ship available in this mod, unlike yourself, whom, I might remind, has just chalked this entire discussion up as worthless, despite the fact that he initiated it, by declaring the capital ships he feels so strongly about nothing but 'a bunch of battleships'. What was that last, again?
