In celebration of link decay and the enshittification of the internet, I've decided to embed this image using a direct Discord link that will inevitably die.
That why i didnt ever bothered to post. Event was good, but amouts of prooves was too excessive, need to turn down any notifications, dont forget to screen everything. Was too unnatural to do it all inside encounter, so i actually forgot to do it in half cases.

You can't just go around asking people why they're purple, @TheDoctorXI
Okay, here are two options for letters addressing the situation where someone has asked about another person's physical characteristics (without referencing race), aiming to explain why such inquiries are inappropriate and potentially harmful. I’ve included a couple of options – one more formal and one slightly less so – to suit different relationships with the recipient. Please read the notes at the end of both options carefully before sending.
Option 1: More Formal & Direct
[Your Name/Organization (if applicable)]
[Date]
[Recipient's Name]
[Recipient’s Address]
Dear [Recipient's Name],
I am writing to address a recent interaction where you inquired about someone’s physical attributes. I want to gently but firmly explain why such questions are inappropriate and potentially harmful.
Asking someone “why” they possess certain characteristics demonstrates a misunderstanding of how individual traits develop and can perpetuate the idea that appearances require explanation or justification. Physical features are simply natural variations, not something that needs an explanation.
Such inquiries can be deeply uncomfortable and disrespectful, reducing individuals to their physical appearance rather than acknowledging their full humanity. It’s important to remember that everyone deserves to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of their individual traits.
I hope you will reflect on this matter and avoid making similar comments in the future. I am happy to discuss this further if you would like clarification or wish to learn more about respectful communication.
Sincerely,
[Your Name/Title]
Option 2: Slightly Less Formal & More Explanatory
Dear [Recipient's Name],
I wanted to talk with you about something that came up recently – your question about someone’s physical characteristics. I understand you might not have intended any harm, but I want to explain why asking “why” someone has certain features isn’t appropriate.
Physical traits are simply natural variations determined by genetics and other factors. It's like asking "Why do you have brown eyes?" – it’s just part of who they are, not something that needs an explanation or justification.
Bringing up someone’s physical attributes in this way can be really uncomfortable because it focuses on their appearance rather than recognizing them as a whole person. We want to create a respectful environment where everyone feels valued for who they are, not judged based on their looks.
I hope you understand what I'm saying. If you’d like to talk more about this or learn more about why these kinds of questions can be problematic, please feel free to reach out.
